Yeah, Ollie's has become pretty widespread east of the Mississippi. But West Coasters get nothing.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Stopped by Ollies today and got this for $5.99. It's a large size format book with original MSRP of $45

Also, saw a lot of 10 comic bags for $5.99. Some of the bags seem to be directly from IDW with a mix of overstock titles. Other bags have a mix of everything and have been supplied to Ollies by New Dimension Comics. The ND comic bags are certainly quarter bin shit. Most are titles from the 90's that were overprinted to death. Somehow ND has unloaded this crap on Ollies.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Also found out that my local Ollies received some of those Marvel big books like the Captain America: Vibranium Edition. They were sold at $25 each but an infamous asshole who lives in town bought them all and is now trying to flip them over on ebay, Amazon, FB, yard sales, and trying to trade them in to the local comic book shops. This guy is infamous because he only goes to stores to get freebies and deals and them flip them. If he can't flip them, then he used to return them to the store until all the places like Target, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc, banned him because he was abusing the return system.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

I've purchased a few of those 10 comics packs - what I've noticed is they'll include one or two halfway decent Marvel/DC issues on the top and bottom, with the other eight issues largely being randomly disposable indie stuff. Probably the better deal are the smaller five packs with all Marvel/DC comics, priced around $5.

4-packs and 5-packs that Ollies got from Diamond were much better as it was overstock from Marvel and DC but there were plenty of good books in it, including rare 1:100 or one per store variants. Seems that Diamond depleted those resources, so Ollies brokered a deal with New Dimension Comics and it's been crap from then on.

Five Below has also gotten in four packs of recent DC comics - it seems like every package had Batman #50 (the aborted Bat-Cat wedding) and other assorted issues like the Man of Steel mini-series from Bendis.

I got some of the packs back in February. Many of them include the Justice League 1 1:25 and the 1:500 variants.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Went back to Ollies today and found the Marvel Now! Omnibus for $14.99. They also re-stocked their inventory with 5-packs of mixed Marvel and DC books from the 80's till today. These 5-packs are $4.99 but found 3 sets that have some key issues. Found a 5-pack with Superman/Batman #22, which is the first in-continuity appearance of Batman Beyond, another with Captain America Sentinel of Liberty #8 (first Falcon as Cap) and another one with Marvel Comics Presents #117, the first appearance of Ravage 2099.

I found a little more than just the Marvel Now! Omnibus. They had Classic Deadpool Omnibus and a "solo" Guardians of the Galaxy omnibus for $20. Also saw an Ultimate Universe omnibus that collected the first six issues of Ultimate Spidey, X-Men, Avengers and one other I'm blanking on.

Also saw a Wizard of Oz omnibus!? and Muppets omnibus.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Stopped by today. Really wanted the Deadpool Omni, only saw the Wizard of Oz and one other one, maybe the Mavel Now but I want to say it was something else.
The comic book section was the smallest I've seen there.

Ended up getting:
Hardcover:
The Marvel Age of Comics 1961-1978
Deadpool - Drawing the Merc with a mouth
Wolverine - Japan's Most Wanted

Paperback:
The Punisher - The Slavers
Marvel Zombies - Battleworld

Not comic related - Rogue One - The Ultimate Visual Guide (hardcover)

Found even better stuff visiting a second time. The Long Halloween: Noir edition for $8.99, Jim Aparo's Legends of the Dark Knight Vol. 3, Harley's Little Black Book hardcover and a few others.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Recently went to the local North Georgia store looking for the Batman books that The Phantom Stranger bought at his local Ollie's. Didn't see any of the Batman graphic novels, but I was able to buy The Golden Age Superman Vol 2 for $3.99, The Guardians of The Galaxy Solo Classic Omnibus for $19.99 and The Big Book Of Peanuts Daily Strips From The 1970's for $7.99.

That Guardians Omnibus is pretty sweet. Was the Golden Age Superman softcover?

DC metro area.

That Golden Age Superman book is a softcover. They do have one of the early Superman Golden Age Archive hardcovers popping up. The Archive editions aren't quite as popular since DC did release early Superman in omnibus form.

Hinestly, I’m afraid to touch anything in there these days. The stacks are so disorganized they must get touched by thousands of hands, and Woonsocket isn’t exactly a low risk area for Covid.

I actually saw one location put them out last week. I believe they are all hardcovers from Snyder's New 52 run.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Wonder if they are going to start giving away Garth Brooks anthology sets for just visiting your local store?

Anyway, I recently found some Larry Hama/Marc Silvestri Wolverine trades for $4.99.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

I was lucky. It's an hour + away, and about 10 minutes out, I was telling my wife it was going to be a wasted trip for me.
My Ollie's, which are all roughly an hour away seem to get cleaned out pretty fast, due to proximity to comic shops. The Harley book was completely worth it as it contains a Neal Adams drawn parody of Superman vs. Muhammad Ali. The reprint hardcover of S v. MA would be great to score at an Ollie's. I have heard that it is a pretty consistent seller for DC, though.
