Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet
Nothing really new at Ollies, finally went after about 6 weeks or so. I caved on Batman Mad Love, which is awesome, Harley and Ivy hardcover and Supergirl Silver Age Volume 1 paperback. No new omnis, there was a Bendis Hardcover of Guardians of the Galaxy, but it was not an omnibus.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Woonsocket had quite a few Vertigo titles, including Preacher, Fables and some others. Nothing I was really interested in.
The art section did have this monstrosity for $20 if anyone's interested. The Hulk needs more fiber in his diet.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet
Bookoutlet has a lot of marvel trades and a few omnis and epic collections, not quite Ollie's prices, but good prices, I think these are remainders so they might have a black dot on them.
Omni's are defenders, wolverine volume 2 (volume 1 disappeared faster than I could look at the cart),wolverine and the x-men, age of apocalypse, savage sword of conan, conan the barbarian, simon and kirby, captain america volume 3, x-men mutant massacre, power pack v2, cosmic ghost rider, FF V4, golden age cap.
check often stock changes quite frequently today.
Also, there are some Gallery editions.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet
When I was really into it I used to buy from Talesofwonder.com and cheapgraphicnovels.com. They have some decent prices if you don’t mind waiting. I just looked at Talesofwonder, the Animal Man omnibus looks mighty tempting for $52.

Ollies in Woonsocket has really cut back their graphic novel section. I was just there today and now it is only one bookcase and had nothing new since the last time I was there over a month ago.

Thanks for checking. Maybe they really are cutting back on books. The last couple of years, October has been a good month, or late October anyway.

One of the big drivers for all the overstock were unsold merchandise returned from Barnes & Noble. But if you've visited Barnes recently, you'll notice their graphic novel section has been drastically cut down in size. I think the days of DC and Marvel having warehouses of unsold product are over.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet
It sounds like Marvel and DC ended up with a glut of unsold capeshit trade paperbacks and burned them off in bulk to Ollie.
Their print numbers are probably more conservative now, so you won't see as much stuff get remaindered; they'll probably be selling most overstock through their own distributors to direct market retailers going forward.

The only reason we are going to see some reductions of inventory in the next year or so is because of how the paper shortages have affected comic book companies in producing trades and hardcover collections. Both DC and Marvel have had to sacrifice a bulk of their monthly tpb output due to the shortage and some books that are always kept in circulation like Infinity Gauntlet and Dark Knight Returns are currently on backorder due to the printing companies not being able to keep with the demand. Tpbs are the biggest money maker in the industry. The shortage has hit hard on everyone

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet
I was able to score an Avengers World's Mightiest Box set. I called 3 Ollie's. One said they had two that sold out instantly, another did not know if they had it, but I wasn't talking to the book person. The third said, "The $500 one?" and they were able to put it aside for me. So, they seem to be making their way through the Northeast. It was still sealed in the brown corrugated container with an Avengers sticker on it. Also, they did not scan it, but entered a number off the shipping label and it came up 49 cents. I told the cashier he should probably check that and a manager came over and corrected it. Ollie's graphic novel deals are so good, it does feel like you are stealing at times, but 49 cents really is stealing. I paid $89.99.
One more thing, I went back to the graphic novels afterwards to see if there was anything new. The book person was putting out multi-paks of comics and I thanked her for putting it aside. She said she did not want to put the box sets out because she was afraid people would steal them, and by that I assume she means they would break up the box set and take the individual books. So, you may want to ask if you don't see it.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet
One of the local Ollie's received a huge new shipment of DC Rebirth era trades, everything from Green Arrow to Batman to Red Hood & The Outlaws. Some re-treads but several new things like The Terrifics.
A handful of Rebirth Hardcovers like Nightwing Volume 1
