Or maybe there could be four women claiming to be WW?

Or how 'bout if there was a blue and a red WW?

THAT'D be cool*.

* I tease, I tease. In fact, looking over this month's Previews, I found myself with a greater ratio of DC books than Marvel...

I think, and I could be wrong, her character was one of the early Vertigo books to be published when Vertigo was started up. I also guess she goes back and forth between Vertigo and the Regular DC line.

Well, wasn't Animal Man also a Vertigo book (or it converted when Vertigo first came out?) And I think we've seen him a few times in this Crisis...

I think it converted. Yeah, he's been around in the Crisis.

Let me ask this again... The DC Infinite Crisis isn't having any affect on the Vertigo world right?

Hell, what "earth" would the Vertigo world be?
There isn't really a separate Vertigo "world"--just that some (but obviously not all) of the Vertigo titles take place within the DCU, but neither side acknowledges much of what happens in the "other" side. Though I suppose one could argue that anything in DCU/Vertigo that contradicts "normal" DCU continuity takes place on another Earth.

Given Daniel's recent appearance in JSA, I was hoping that he would show up in Infinite Crisis, to do the same thing with Earth-2 Diana that he did with Lyta & Hector Hall.

During the latest Geekdrome podcast, they talked about Garth Ennis' new series starting this summer called (I think) The Boys. It's going to be a limited run series, sorta like Preacher was.

He's quoted as saying: "It will out-Preacher Preacher".

Anybody have any artwork examples or additional information on it?

There was something on Newsarama about it a few weeks back.

The Vertigo continuity constantly crosses over into the mainstream DCU. Of course it's all explained by Hypertime.

Please let Steve Dillion draw it!!!

In any case, its good to hear Ennis is moving back in that direction - his stuff on Punisher was good for awhile, but his other work (Born, Fury, Ghost Rider) seemed subpar (compared to Hellblazer and Preacher).

Yeah, it would be hard to tie the universe of Y: The Last Man in with any other DC universe, Vertigo or not, for obvious reasons.

Well, apparantly "Preacher" was a comic in the "Y: The Last Man" universe. So there.

And Daniel's been in JLA before.

Morpheus and Constantine interracted with the Martian Manhunter in the first Sandman story arc.

The article linked in one of the previous posts says that Darick Robertson is the artist.

As for his recent work... I've yet to read Born or Fury, nor do I have any desire to. Ghost Rider made me wonder who brainwashed Ennis and replaced him with a very shitty fanboy writer. I hope he redeems himself with this new series.

I've learned that Steve Dillon is sometimes an extremely limited artist. When masked, Wolverine looks like it could be anyone Dillon ever drew. He didn't even try to get the facial structure correct.

The story was... interesting. I don't regularly read Wolverine, but the description of the series intrigued me enough to pick up the first issue, so I'll stick with it. I'm extremely cynical, though, as I've been through too many instances of "no, really, this is Wolverine's true origin, we mean it this time."

I find it odd that it took this long for someone to comment about the new batch of books this week. Normally we have a discussion going about mid-way through the day on Tuesday. Must not have been a big week for people.

Anyone have opinions on the ending of New Avengers? For those that don't read it or didn't catch what they were implying at the end,
Spoiler:
this all-powerful guy that they're fighting apparently was the recipient of all the powers stripped from mutants at the end of House of M

So now we have an idea as to how that big event will be undone and made meaningless.

I'm in one of my non-ship weeks and won't get new stuff until next week.

That's one main thing that keeps me from going with a mail-order service. I love going to the comic shop on Wednesday morning and picking up my new books.

That and, as a small business owner myself, I have a strong belief in the importance of supporting local businesses.

I just read the new Daredevil, and I was pretty happy to see
Spoiler:
The Punisher show up at the end. Even though Ennis' take on Frank can be highly entertaining, I find it hard to get behind him as a protagonist for more than a short period of time. I much prefer him as this somewhat deranged "wild card" character who shows up every once in a while to complicate life for Daredevil/Spider-Man. I'm looking forward to seeing what he'll be up to in this book, since I assume that his plan is to get arrested and brought into Rykers.

I think I only picked up 2 comics yesterday (Birds of Prey and Justice). My LCS sold out of Squadron Supreme, so I'll have to track that down this weekend. I had no interest in Wolverine Origins because it's just more morsels that I'd rather read the synopsis of what supposedly went down in Logan's past...yawn...than buy the actual comics to find out.

I didnt care for the first issue of Wolverine Origins...I have it on my DCBS list for next month so Ill give it another shot, but it didnt have anything to do with any kind of origin and just seemed to be just another Wolverine story. I am sure they will move into more, but I dont know if I can hang around long enough to see where they go with it.

Argh, is there any comichshop which still has the One Volume Edition and ships to Germany?
The Amazon stores (Germany, US and UK) don't offer the comic anymore and the market place sellers want way over 100 bucks.

Or are there any news about a re-print?

I am of two minds on this one. I actually think the story has been pretty good so far. However, I'm disappointed because I expect more than "pretty good" from James Robinson.

Speaking of Batman, did anyone else read "Batman and the Monster Men"? Great stuff! No one does Batman better than Matt Wagner. Can't wait for "Batman and the Mad Monk"!

I picked up the first issue of Warlord because I was a big fan of the original (as previously discussed in this forum). Somewhat interesting, but not enough to make me pick up #2.

What the hell has happened to Bart Sears' artwork? I leafed through his 2 Warlord issues, and his artwork looked really sloppy nowadays.

I wanted to tell you guys something cool as hell. I found one of my 16 year old female students in History class reading Kingdom Come today. So we started talking about it. Told her I ordered the new Absolute - she had no idea what that was. But then she pulled out a bunch of artwork she has been doing of comic characters and it wasn't bad. Some were her own creation. Sort of a Who's Who style of character page. But some were Teen Titans. She had some of Superboy. I asked if she was reading Inifinte Crisis and she said she read the first couple but didnt really like it or understand it. So I said that older fans were really digging it, but I could understand younger fans not knowing what was going on. Anyway. . . just thought it was cool. Oh and she said Marvel sucked.
