Question:

One part of the whole DC Crisis I've avoided was the "7 Soldiers" series. I simply didn't want to get into them and have yet more comics that I needed to buy. What was the gist of those books? Were they linked to the IC?

According to wiki, there's no official tie-in. In an interview, Morrison stated that it took place after Infinite Crisis. There were a lot of plot holes, however, that made that statement hard to justify. So now the entire series is considered to have taken place a week before Infinite Crisis began.

I was under the impression 7 Soldiers took place outside of the normal DCU. Hmph.

It IS a great series though. One of the few, if only, worthwhile "Mega Series".

Grant said that it took place before crisis and really, it works great and grant is just an amazing writer. Johns also said we would be seeing some of the Seven Soliders take a part in Crisis.

New Villains United IC Special was amazing. I loved how they incorporated Oracle into crisis now since she hasn't really been doing much of anything.

Yes, it was an amazing special. I was expecting it to be another "nothing happens" fill-in issue, but the build up was great. The only thing that irked me was the conclusion; maybe if we haven't seen you-know-who's ass kicked so many times over the years, it might have been more threatening. It was also nice to see some second stringers there. The only one missing was Animal Man.

Animal Man's out in space with Donna Troy's group. Too bad because I love Animal Man. There wouldn't be enough appearances by him if it were up to me.

Seven Soldiers is an amazing piece of work.

From what interviews and panels I've seen, expect animal man to show up a good amount in 52.

Great, now I'm going to have to go back and collect Seven Soldiers. I knew I should have started with it to begin with.

The trade out right now is in reading order as they came out. So you can get it all in the correct order.

Did any of you DC fans pick up the foreshadowing in this week's Supergiral and the Legion of Superheroes?

Spoiler:
As the Dominators prepare to attack Earth, one of them says "Remember the Fiffffdee-Tu." Looks like Dominators are going to play a part in 52.

Moving over to the other company, can I just say that after this week's issue of Thing, I want to marry Dan Slott? Slott says everything everyone is thinking (or at leats everything I was thinking) about Spidey's new costume and about the New Avengers.
