Borrowed this from a friend who won it in a raffle.

Fantastic! I really enjoyed Gunslinger, and have been told that the rest of the series gets even more weird. Im looking forward to diving in tonight!

Just finished this. And after reading this I understand the whole book club/discussion thing. It pisses me off that no one around me is into Ellis as an author.

I love Ellis, and I really enjoyed it. The ending was great. I thought it was beautifully written, although I didn't like it as much as Lunar Park's ending. The imagery at the end of LP blew me away.

Anyway, I've moved onto The Illuminatus Trilogy. Only 40 pages in and so far so good.

Well I commute 45 mins. back and forth to work, so including when I read at home I'm hoping I can shave some time off your mark.

Re: What are you reading? (September 2010)

The Illuminatus Trilogy is one of the five best books I've ever read. So amazing and deep and scary and it really makes you wonder about some things (George Washington's hemp crops).

Anyway - I'm reading this interesting Kindle book called "By the Light of a Gibbous Moon" by Scott Jaeger, which are H.P. Lovecraft stories written in a style very similar to Lovecraft's. I've seen some crappy Kindle books but this has been very entertaining and well written so far.

I couldn't get into Brass right now, so I went with this over Labor Day weekend:

Think I'll go for Hunger Games next.

Re: What are you reading? (September 2010)

I'll tell you what book I won't be reading this September:
Freedom.
I was pumped up after watching Oprah and listening to her gush about it and telling me it was a "masterpiece".
I logged onto Amazon only to find out that the Kindle version is only $1. less than the hardcover.
