Race Of A Lifetime

I picked this up today but found out on Amazon that it's actually pretty gossip-y... Has anyone read this and can you confirm this? I might just take it back, I was looking for more of an account of the elections.

Is this your first time with The Stand? If so, I really wish you could have experienced the original . . . not that updated abomination.

I like the longer version better myself, in spite of it introducing a plot hole here and there.

Yes, it is. I've had several people who've already read it tell me that they wish they could be me and read it for the first time (not necessarily the longer version). I'm digging it so far. Part of me wishes I would've read the shorter version just because there are long stretches where, while interesting with character moments, nothing seems to happen. For such a long book, a brisker pace would be nice.

But my anal retentiveness wouldn't allow me to read the "less complete" version.
