thanks, will look for it. been wanting The Score for a long time. Underappreciated flick, Ed Norton was phenomenal

Big Lots cutting out the discs? The one I check in on hasn't had anything new since I think Black Friday, just the same old titles that have been passed over by everyone in town.

I doubt it, but that would suck. I'd also be mostly an ex customer (though since Covid, I've spent very little time at non essential stores)

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

The three locations I mainly visit have more DVDs/BDs than ever. Waterfall displays, 4-sided racks and more. Came across on Blu-ray:

Blacklist: Season Two for $2.50 on clearance
Action Point
This Girl Is A Badass
Sing
Over The Hedge
Immortals

Laverne & Shirley Seasons 1-5 set for $15.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Stopped by a store yesterday for the first time in several weeks. There were a few new things. The one which interested me the most was a show called Fortitude. I believe it was the first season on BD for $8. I'm expecting a $5 off $15 coupon on Friday and I'll probably try to pick it up then combining that with the 20% coupon floating around.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I hit one yesterday also. Lots of stuff, nothing I wanted even with the 20% coupon.

Picked up a copy of the 10 Cloverfield Lane/Cloverfield Double Feature BD for $5 a few weeks back.

Going to back to the store to see if there is anything new on the last day of the 20% coupon.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Recent pickup with 20% coupon:

Adventures of Francis the talking mule (first four of the Francis the talking mule movies--already had Francis joins the Wacs (from the Wartime Comedies collection--also from Big Lots) so now I am only missing the last 2 films of the series--not that one really needs to be a Talking Mule completist)

Boris Karloff 6 movie collection (6 Columbia releases from 1935 to 1942)

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I didn't know the BK was on blu in the USA. Eureka released it in the UK. I wish one of my cities's 2 stores would have had that. I was unable to find ANYTHING to use the 20% coupon on.

Was this blu or dvd? Amazon only lists the BK on dvd for just under $15.

Free DVD for Rewards Members!

E-mail received this morning that a DVD ($3 and under) is the current freebie. It's loaded to your account.

I have no idea if a BD might qualify, outside of actually trying to pick one up. Regardless, I'm posting in the BD thread since there would likely be interest to folks here.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

The last time they did this I got a BR - their barcodes don't distinguish between the two. In fact, the checker said "Only the ones in that display (pointing to a very limited selection of $3 DVDs) will work." but I had her scan it anyway. It worked as it was media at the $3 price point.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Thanks, Bob!

Went to my closest store and picked up 2 BDs (one on my account, the other on my wife's).

It was a bit of a challenge to find anything of interest. So much of the current inventory is above the $3 price point. I went with Next, which I own on DVD and saw 10+ years ago and Leatherface, which is a blind buy that I won't expect much from.

I have some family members who likely wouldn't be interested in this promotion, so I might see if they'll let me use their phone number for additional films. I might resort to taking a closer look at the DVDs if I go back in.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

My local store had some new $3 titles today. In some cases, new means they weren't there a few days ago but I've seen them before (Suffragette comes to mind).

Then there were titles I know I've never seen at Big Lots before. Half of them starred Bruce Willis or Nic Cage:

Drive Hard
The Dictator
Marauders
Maggie
Solace
The Bag Man
Once Upon a Time in Venice
I.T.
Acts of Violence

Quite honestly, I looked at most of them as stuff we'll see at Dollar Tree soon.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Cage still occasionally puts out a decent movie. Willis mostly shows up in paint-by-numbers thrillers and forgettable junk these days.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Went by a store near me that stocks more media than the others. Jeeeesus, the # of DTV titles featuring the terribly photoshopped face of Bruce Willis ! This guy hurting for money ? No idea when all these were made but there were plenty to be had of BW crap in this store - all bilingual Canadian releases (VVS films) with pristine slips. John Cusack and Travolta are two others whose crappy DTV titles were among the restock. $2 for each after coupon was way too expesnive, left the store with none.
