Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I hit the other BL in Tacoma today. Lots of new mediocre titles. Like the other store, all had $5 & $3 price tags, but rang up at the ale prices. Clerk there also thought everything was out already, but there are pics on this thread of $2.88 & $1.88 price tags, so both clerks are probably wrong. It would be nice to know if they were going to put them out on t-day; I usually will not shop in B&M's on BF. It's a nightmare.

Went to a SoCal store in Buena Park today (Valley View and Lincoln). None rang up for the sale prices. Is this local or across the chain ?

I am in New York and MooMooMooMoo is in Washington State so I don’t think it was just local.

i got the Startrek 3 disc set, Hondo and the Mae West DVD set - all marked $5 and rang up $5. I told the girl at the register about this promotion and she had no clue, so did the manager. Ended up not purchasing

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Hit 2 today. It was somewhat late in the day, but they didn't appear to be picked out. Worst BF titles I've ever seen at BL. The only title I would have bought if I didn't already have it was Vicky Christina Barcelona on dvd. One of the stores had nothing with the $1.88 & $2.88 price tags, though they were stuffed with new crummy titles. (I also asked to make sure I didn't miss anything).

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

New stuff at my local store today:

Invisible Man & Dracula Legacy sets for $10 each. Also 2 different looking Scarface steelbooks for $10. Both were limited editions, but different artwork.

And if you're ok with DVDs, the Bourne classified set for $10 and the Hitchcock Ultimate set for $20.

Dvdaf only has the Hitch Ultimate Collection as a Blu set. Unless there's a different Ultimate set that I don't see.

And I'll try and hunt for a Scarface steelbook. Thanks!

I'll swing by tomorrow. If Drac is only $10 & in stock & on the floor, I'll nab it. Only need it for 2 films, but that's still an ok price. (a little over $11 with tax). Then the question is whether to keep the UK highlights box for the Phantom remake or put it on ebay.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

The local BL has not gotten any Uni horror. They said the earliest they might get another batch would be next Monday, to be put out on Tuesday. Cross my fingers, but all their racks are stuffed with garbage titles, so I'm not holding my breath.........

I stopped in the local store here tonight to find pretty much the same thing you described. They appeared to have more BR titles but that could be simply because it was just a bet more organized (which isn't saying much as it was still pretty disorganized).

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

My BL had everything that was mentioned. Ended up getting the Invisible Man Collection and a Scarface steelbook. Like Cardsfan said, they had 2 Scarface covers to choose from. I like the Pop Art cover more, but I'm a sucker for Art cards and went with the red LE copy.

Almost squeezed the trigger on the Kirk Douglas collection (Mostly for Spartacus) and it was very odd to see the Hitchcock Collection in a Blu-Ray sized box, but it has "DVD" written all over it.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Went to a different store today. Several of the Bourne classified sets on BD this time, for $10. Also the Fast & Furious set (7 films) for $10.

A few of the Universal legacy sets again on BD, along with a couple on regular DVD too.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I checked Wednesday night at the store here (NE AR). Nothing new yet. Maybe next week. There are a few things I'd pick up - mainly that Hitchcock DVD set (not too concerned to get them on BR as I'm just not huge fan but *would* like to own copies to watch those films I've never seen).

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

The store I visited had no Universal Legacy sets. I saw Bad Santa 2 and the Blacklist S.2 in the waterfall display, which was overstuffed with various older 3D releases and TMNT movies.

BTW, even though it was mentioned in a different thread, The BR Universal Sets at my store have slips while the DVDs don't. Dracula was the only BD set I saw though.
