And sometimes a digital code or promotional material. . I've used the other side for sticky hubs and movie tickets. Just depends.

I picked that up as well except at Dollar General for $4.95. Then I discovered it at Dollar Tree for $1. I guess Dollar General got $3.95 outta me (not worth a return considering gas, etc). Similar thing happened with Chasing Mavericks. Got that at Big Lots for $3. Then saw it at Dollar Tree for $1. Big Lots got the $2. Oh well. It happens.

The usual common 'dump' is from Fox and Warner. Big Lots also gets some Sony overstocks. But it almost seems like its the same Fox lot that makes it to these two outlets. I bought it only because I had other purchases to make and had the coupon. Now that you mention finding it in DT, doesn't feel so 'hot'

In my Big Lots experience, certain locations seem to be designated for media more than others.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Pearl St Super Store got a big batch of both blu & dvd. Unfortunately, even with a $5 off $15 that expires today, I could only find one $3 dvd.... One irritation: A couple weeks ago, I bought the Easy Of Eden blu ray with book from Family Video for $8.99. It finally shipped today. I could have got it (without the book) for $5 today at BL - the discount (If there had been $8 itruly wanted, I likely would have found the rest.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Picked up Fox Noir "Panic In The Streets" for $3 today.

I also saw, "Hitch/The Holiday Blu-ray Double Feature for $5" which was mentioned above. Very bummed; I had totally forgot about the Will Smith movie & was thinking this was the Hitchcock biopic from a couple years ago which I wouldn't mind picking up for $5 total. Oh well........

Possibly my best $3 blind buy ever. Good film; excellent picture quality for a a 1950 film.

I normally don't go to Big!Lots but I had some spare time and was right next to one. Thought of this thread and hit the movie section. BDs were mixed in with DVDs but I nabbed the steelbook of Lucy for $5.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I've never asked anyone, but I would guess that when Big Lots marks some of their media down on clearance, that it's at the store's/manager's discretion. If so, then this is certainly YMMV. But my local store had a few BDs (and many DVDs) marked down this week. Almost all were $5 titles marked down to $2.50. But occasionally they were marked down twice it appeared, putting them at 25% of their original price. I picked up Machine Gun Preacher on BD for $1.25. I had previously bought the DVD at Dollar Tree (and the BD might have appeared there as well, though I never saw it). Went ahead and upgraded though I still haven't watched the DVD yet.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I found another "Christmas in Connecticut" (which I was able to pick up at $0.50 - basically 90% off - a few weeks ago) and thought I'd buy it for a Christmas gift for someone. Well it is no longer on clearance as it rang up at full price $5. Needless to say it stayed at the store.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

My local store had lots of new BDs when I stopped by today. Many of the same titles I'd seen before, but a few new ones.

Of note:

League of Their Own/Natural double feature - $3
Conspiracy Theory - $3
Lucy (Steelbook) - $5

3-4 copies of each of the ones above.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I hit the "superstore" yesterday. They were really light. I'm probably going to hit the other local BL Tuesday (Truck comes on Mondays). I've got a $5 off $15 to try to use.

Grabbed Rumble in the Bronx for $5 and some
Archway Gluten Free Sugar Cookies Archway Gluten Free Sugar Cookies
for $2.50. Hope the movie holds up. The cookies are decent, but small (which is a plus and minus I guess lol).

I wouldn't mind picking up Conspiracy Theory if mine has it, but they probably don't even have the Archway Cookies.
