If Target isn't going to carry it, then there's no reason to go on Tuesday. I know not to try BB since mine doesn't take Disney coupons. In fact, today while at my nearest BB (the one that has said no to my coupons almost 100% of the time) I happened to catch the store manager in the movie section and asked him the coupon policy. He reconfirmed what others had told me: his store will not take any Disney coupons under any circumstances ever because last time they did it Disney didn't pay them. I asked him if he knew why Target still takes them and he said Target probably don't yet realize or maybe doesn't care that they are losing a bunch of money. I asked him what happened with Bambi last week since it mentioned the Disney coupon in the ad, and he said nobody had talked to him about that, but assumed that would be the only exception since the ad specifically said it was OK. So for me that leaves only Target or Walmart.

There no way I'm paying more than $24.99 - $10 coupon for Nausicaa on BD. How I wish Amazon could take the Disney mfg. coupons online.

I'd be a little more proactive about this and take the manager's name, the district manager's name and report them to corporate. I know it's not BB's corporate policy not to take coupons, esp. those that are actually in the ad. I would even go in with a Bambi coupon and try to buy it (even if you didn't want it -- you could walk away at the last moment if they actually said yes). talk to the manager and then use the ammo to report him to corporate. You might even end up with a GC for your effort. The least you'd probably do is get them to back down --- at least some of the time.

I don't have the time to look, but I'm sure their policies are somewhere on their website concerning coupons.

Just because it's not in Target's ad, doesn't mean they won't carry it.
(Might not be a great price though...)

I would try contacting someone at Best Buy corporate about your local store.
What a line of b.s. he's spewing...

If I get time I'll try to do something about it, but for now it's easier just to go to Target for everything (as long as Target carries it). I couldn't see the manager's name because his tag was hanging from his shirt pocket in a way I couldn't read it, but he was dressed in regular nice clothes instead of a blue shirt. The point is I've had the coupon policy confirmed 3 times at this store by supervisors and now the store manager, so now I know why I always got denied. He mentioned that all employees have been told not to accept them.

I have a sneaking suspicion/guess why they had problems with the Disney coupons, and it stems from 2-3 years ago when I used to be successful using them at BB. Each time (with maybe ONE exception) I gave them a $10 off Disney coupon, their computer system never recognized it, so the employee would manually take off $10 from the price and throw the coupon in the drawer. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney didn't accept those because the coupons weren't "rung through" the register for proof, whereas Target has always clearly listed the mfg. coupons on the receipt. However, given that is the fault of the people who program BB's computers, I'd think it would've happened at all BB stores in the country, so I don't know why my store/district took it on themselves to make their own policy whereas (most of) the rest of the BB stores in the country seem to take Disney coupons.

I think buying Bambi would've been successful because he said if the ad specifically mentioned a coupon, he thought they'd "have to take it".

Sorry to get off topic from Nausicaa, but until Tuesday morning I don't think there's anything more to say. I hope people post here which stores they actually find it in stock. I know not being in the ad doesn't mean Target or Walmart won't carry it in store, and by the same token just because it's on their web site doesn't mean they will carry it in store. I guess (to quote RJ Macready) "why don't we just wait around... see what happens".

The coupons are always entered in manually at Best Buy. That's still the case now.

Is anyone else going to do a "wait and see" approach? I mean, if no one is offering a "release week" discount price, then why not hold off until next week? The coupon technically doesn't expire until 3/20, which is a little longer than most DMR coupons.

This is in my goldbox on Amazon for $23.74. Has anyone had any luck trying to use the coupons through Amazon? I am trying to decide if it's worth even bothering.

There's really no such thing as "using the coupon" through Amazon. You can try to ask them to remove $10 from your order, but that has a less than 25% or less success rate.

That's what I meant. I am probably not going to bother. I have a feeling that it's going to be on sale, but not listed in the sales ad. There's been a lot of new releases that have been on sale and not advertised, and if they don't have it then I am sure that Moviestop will have it for $24.99 anyway.

Is that one of those 73.6% of statistics that are just made up or do you have actual data to prove this number?

A Target employee posted over at blu-ray.com that his store got 4 copies and the price will be $27.99($17.99 AC).

That's what I'm going to do. I'm hoping that another 40% Borders coupon will show up. Final price "should" be $39.99 - $16 - $10 = 13.99.

I find it hard to imagine that a Borders B&M would stock a niche title, especially with their current financial woes. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong.

Walmart.com has for $24.96
Bestbuy.com has for $29.99

Planning to price match at bestbuy since I have some credits left.

If you can get Best Buy to price match another store's website, more power to you. I just know my Best Buy would never do that.

I'm pretty sure it fits somewhere in that 73.6%. (Also, I had half a mind to follow-up with that reference, but I forgot I posted the set-up).

I've price matched at several BBs from Walmart's website a ton of times. Works like a charm.

I've also done it few times. Just show the price right from my smartphone, and they accepted it in the past. My bestbuy also always accepted the Disney coupons without any hassle.

I've never had a problem using a Disney coupon at Best Buy but price matching is another story. I've tried a few times times and each time they would only do so from a local store and only if one of the stores had it in stock. And they would call the stores and check. I gave up on PM there.

Price matching at Best Buy or Wal-mart is easy. Price matching AND using a coupon always ends in utter futility.

Exactly, I've never been to a best buy or wal-mart and been able to price match and get a coupon taken off as well. I have done that at target though but since this isn't in any weekly ad you're screwed since target only price matches from an ad.

Anyone know if Moviestop takes the Disney coupons? Just wondering incase I strike out finding this at Target and Walmart since Moviestop tends to get most every release.

I know it's still early, but has anybody seen one of these in a WM today? If so, what is the retail price?

I looked then asked at my Walmart when I went a little bit ago. Was told it's not a store stocked title. Same for Tales from Earthsea.

Lucky for me the Movie Stop is right across the street from the Walmart and I found out they do indeed take the coupons. Got Nausicaa for $17.99 after the coupon. With gas prices was not worth going up to Target.

Yea, I just noticed on their website, "Not Sold in Stores".
