Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

Seems like B&N got their shit wired together after yesterday's debacle of massive cancellations.

How are you people getting the 30% coupon to work on LIFE, and also getting free shipping. I can't get the free shipping to apply unless my order is > $25.

When using the military and VISA links (which offer free shipping on any size order), I can't stack the 30% off coupon... I'm not a BN member, could this be why?

Get a 2-month trial BN membership for free shipping. Just make sure you cancel before the trial ends or they will charge you $25. There should be an invite to the right of the checkout screen.

Just checked my account status. They did cancel Batman too. Never got an e-mail on it, so I thought there might be chance it would ship. Oh well.

I ordered on Sunday morning and got shipping confirmations on both the Batman Anthology and That's Entertainment set.

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

For those who missed the Batman Anthology Blu-Ray deal, for $19.34 delivered you can order it from Overstock.com:

http://forum.dvdtalk.com/blu-ray-bar...m-19-34-a.html

They also have That's Entertainment for $8.99, Ultimate Matrix for $17.29, Batman Begins LE $9.29, and Austin Powers set $15.09 (I think everyone got it for $10 or less at B&N) +$2.95 shipping per order. I just ordered the Batman Anthology.

EDIT: Batman and Ultimate Matrix are OOS now.

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

I got a 30% off coupon in my Inbox this morning, which I applied to the Austin Powers box set bringing it to a grand total of $7.55.

I fucked up though-- I purchased it & paid the $3 shipping... then I tried to be even more thrifty by signing up for that membership in order to get the 2 months of free shipping (after which I'd cancel). So I canceled my first order & tried to re-place the order using the trial membership's free shipping, but they wouldn't let me reuse the 3% coupon. Oh well. I could have sworn BN.com let's you reuse coupons if you cancel orders. I guess not.

Not a big deal. And $10.79 for the Austin Powers Collection on Blu-ray is still pretty great. But I messed up an even greater deal!

Yeah, if you get a shipping estimate for the future, they have until that future date to cancel. Most of us have received shipping estimates, many of those people have had their orders canceled. So, receiving a shipping estimate is not a guarantee of anything.

This deal makes me sick because I just bought Austin Powers last week on Amazon for $25. Too many freaking deals!

If you call bn.com, they have the ability to remove the coupon from your account so you can use it again, IF they are willing to do it. However, their CS is so terrible I wouldn't waste my time. I even had a BN store try to fix a ship to home issue by calling bn.com CS, and the store employee was even given the run around!!! The employee told me the .com CS is terrible to them, too...

Was just reading through this thread and wanted to thank you for this tip. I've been looking for a good price on this title. Used the 30% coupon and ordered for the above price of 17 and change. My first Nat Geo blu...would like to get more of their BDs, but the prices are usually up in Criterion territory.

Just nabbed it as well, seems like a pretty great deal! I only have one other Nat Geo BD and I bought it on the day before thanksgiving last year!

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

My order update

Ninja Turtles set - 19.49
Ordered 2 Austin Powers collection @ 10.79
used 1 online coupon for APC.

The 2 Austin powers collection I ordered got canceled so I lost free shipping and my coupon.

Ninja has not shipped yet,but B&N or even I can't cancel the order even though I don't want the item anymore because their website could be alot better and theri CS suck now.last year they where great with all the orders I made, and A few Criterions got canceled, but they where very nice on the phone.
Maybe because I'm not a member has something to do with it.

I'm thinking this item might not even ship now,but even for $20 it still a good deal,I just wish they would have A more user friendly website like Amazon for canceling or changing orders that have not shipped yet.

I do like their Criterion sale and coupons, even though i didn't order anything
this time around, mostly because I have to many movies I still need to watch.

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

Am I the only person who's sitting on two orders (Austin Powers/That's Entertainment) that are estimated to ship on 12/13? No cancellations here...is it because I paid with Paypal?

I'm kinda surprised if I'm having this kinda dumb luck, as I don't usually do...

I have Austin Powers/Oceans Trilogy listed as the same ship date, except I paid with CCard. Keep your fingers crossed.

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

Got my TE set in a few days ago. I didn't realize the MSRP on this had dropped to $30. Still a great deal, though not quite as amazing as I had originally thought.

I'm not a real fan of the first two, but I paid more than $30 17 years ago just to own the third film on Laserdisc. I watched a little bit of it the other night and it's absolutely still worth getting the set just to have this again.

A few months back I sold off the HD DVD set. Ironically, while resale prices on the Bds have dropped, I was still able to sell the HD DVD set fairly quickly for $25. I checked a few days ago and the used prices are still good (for sellers) compared to the Bd sets.
