Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

re-ordered AP + Life BR for around 26.xx shipped a couple of days ago.

Even though I have not "officially" received a cancellation notice, I'm expecting one since my CC account is showing a temporary refund for 26.xx (that will disappear like last time) with no charge.

We'll see, but B&N can suck it. If this gets canceled, I'm going to terminate my membership and tell them off. This will be my fifth cancellation from them this week. I'm not wasting any more time on this site.

Not a box set deal, but I did just pick up 'The Pursuit of Happyness' for $3.01 using the free shipping and a 30% code.

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

Hmph. I had ordered the Little Rascals Collection. I got an email saying it would be delayed 1-5 days, then got a shipping notice 30 minutes later. Today I received: all 3 LOTR movies! I got excited at first, thinking it was the BD's. I would have kept those and not said a word. But I got the 3 DVD's.

Now I suppose I can understand them sending the Lord of the Rings Collection instead of Little Rascals Collection, since they both have initials of LR (if you ignore "of the") but seeing as they sent 3 individual titles, it is very strange indeed. Needless to say, I'm on hold with them right now trying to get this straightened out...

Did you get a shipping notice for this one? I ordered You Don't Mess With the Zohan for about the same price and I just got a cancellation notice. I'm not upset, since the novelty of getting a $3 blu-ray was the only thing that made me order that movie anyway. Still nothing on my Austin Powers set...

nope...canceled also and not too happy about it. Sure it was only a $3 blu ray but it is one of my wife's favorite moves so was going to be a Christmas present.

Sent them an email since I also had other stuff canceled last week. There will b hell to pay if they either cancel the 'Life' blu ray or send me the friggin' Oprah Winfrey one.

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

My TMNT and AP sets were canceled as well. I sent them an email stating that I would've liked to have been given the option to keep the orders open until the items were ready to ship. They sent back a canned response stating that they couldn't be filled and they hope I'll do business with them again. They can go F themselves!

I've always hated that overpriced store anyway. I never go to their website but after reading the postings here about the deals I gave it a shot. I had no problems ordering them....too bad they aren't good at honoring it. Never again.... There's too many deals to be had at better shops like Amazon.

Just got shipping notification on an order of Life on Blu for $20. I ordered it during the flurry of orders here just before BF.

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

Just got off the phone for the 4th time (should only been 3 but I f'd up and hung up on 3rd person by mistake). Of coarse when I called back I went from a nice lady to a super Beehatch. Anyways here is a break down of how it's went over the Batman Blu set

Customer Service Rep 1: Said my order was canceled just because it was out of stock, and they'd be happy to price match it for $12.99 and get it on the way and he'd do the paperwork.

*waited 4 days no emails or anything like he said I'd get*

Customer Service Rep 2: Said she's be glad to order it for me, but it was out of stock, and I needed to keep an eye out for it be back in stock. To call back

At this point I just really didn't care if I got it or not. I bought the DVD set last year and havent even took them out of the plastic wrap. I decided to call back tonight to order it.

Customer Service Rep 3: Said she would do it no problem, then after 10 minutes, said she could not do it cause it was a price error, I just said that isnt what the email nor the other two reps had told me, and she said she couldn't help it, so I asked to talk to a supervisor and she said one moment, I heard her typing, come to find out she was going back and forth with the sup about my case, and they approved my price. So then she had to check me out for the full price ($62 something now with tax) then make the adjustment after the order was placed, though my card would show up pending for $62, so after she did that, she was having to do a couple of things at once to get it to change to $12.99 and I stupidly got a text and tried checking it on this new phone I got and I touched a button and it hung up on her. D'oh

Customer Service Rep 4: I confused her at first, then she told me it was a pricing error, so I had to explain it all again. Anyways she said it was showing up that I'd only be charged the $12.99 plus tax, with free shipping.

So I guess we'll see. Starting to hate the G.D Batman.

My Austin Powers and That's Entertainment order is still open with a est. ship date of 12/14. Whatever.

Took the BTTF set back to a B&M store today and ran into a nice snag in the return. For some reason, the invoice said that it was $0.00. There was no price on it so they had to look it up. $59.99. Ummmmm...OK. Got $63.59 back. I mentioned to the first clerk that it was $29 and change, but the one who looked up the price wasn't there. I don't know why they can't pull the order off the receipt, but oh well.

Re: Crazy box set deals at bn.com

I called bn the other day and they said my order was delayed because they were out of stock at the warehouse. The CSR said that they were prepping my order for delivery though.

Today, I recieved the "you have 24 hours to extend your order or we'll cancel this" email.

In short, I have no idea what to believe anymore and am frustrated like the rest of you.

I haven't received the dreaded 24 hour email yet this time around, but I'm just it's coming. My orders are still scheduled for the 13th and 14th, so hopefully they will ship on time... Those 24 hour emails are truly bullshit. They don't give nearly enough time, and there is no reason they should be sent out. Once I received that email the day before an item was scheduled to ship, and I missed it, so they canceled my order. That was for the complete That 70's Show last year for a super bargain. I'm still pissed about that...

I've received a few of those 0.00 receipts recently, too. Funny how they handled the return, but it's about time B&N does something in your favor. Usually they find a way to screw you over...

This happened to me when I took my BTTF back to the B&M store. The clerk just called the .com and verified the order price with them. The tax rate is different in the B&M store city than in the city where I live, so I got a whole extra 3 cents back - $29.91.
