Its on the HD-DVD, but for the BR, Universal chopped it up and put it as UCONTROL. www.highdefdigest.com has great review of the disc and special features. The lack of all the HD-DVD and even DVD features was disappointing for myself as well...

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD

Over the past few days, picked up the following from Best Buy...

- Doomsday: $9.99 (had to get a price match from the website as the title rang up $19.99)
- Knocked Up: $4.99
- Land of the Dead: $4.99

May go back later in the week to pick up The Thing. Trying to decide if I need to upgrade 12 Monkeys, 40-Year-Old Virgin and Children of Men from the HD-DVD versions I own alongside the DVDs I own of Brokeback Mountain and Do the Right Thing.

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD

I filled this out but man Universal needs to get some better titles out! I either have the stuff I want for the most part already or stuff I'd like isn't out yet.

Tell me about it. I was looking at the list of Universal BDs on Blu-ray.com and most of the titles I want, I already own.

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD

I used my second coupon to pick up BSG: The Plan for $9.99. The cashier need manager approval to price-match the website ($19.99 in-store/$14.99 online) and then manually took $5 off. I had to pay tax on the amount before the coupon, so it was $10.89 total.

The weird thing about the transaction was that the cashier needed approval for a $5 pricematch, yet two weeks ago when I bought BSG: The Complete Series, the cashier didn't need approval to adjust it from $249.99 to $149.99.

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD

ok, this was stupid. I went in to walmart and saw that they have "The last starfighter" on blu when I went in to check new releases. Went up front and the coupon spit out some little thing from the register denying it. They sent me to the CS counter and the 24 year old fat gamer who can't get laid took one look and said "was this printed on the Internet??" like that was the problem. and very lazily (his whole attitude was "why am I even here" ) trys scanning it and says "well if the system won't take it I have no way to over ride it" when I had used 2 of them not a week ago with a normal cashier who just ran them right through. WTF... seriously this is the 1st time I've actually been denyed at walmart for a legit coupon

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD

that was my exact problem when I tried using it at the registers. It spit out something for the cashier to read on why it was not scanning.

Are you saying that you tried it at walmart a week ago and it scanned with no problem? Did you go to the same walmart this time?

Maybe that's why this week she does need approval!

So actually it did scan with a problem most likely the 1st 2 times, but you just had a cashier who just hit an "accept" or "override" button. If it had actually scanned fine then no button would have to have been pressed most likely. Unfortunately for you this time you had a cashier who was just not going to accept it for some reason.

For those who wanted to use it to pick up Apollo 13, there's an insider booklet at BB that gives you an extra 250 reward zone points for buying any featured title pictured in the booklet. A13 is one of those titles giving you a $5 RZ cert. YMMV on using both coupons. I also received the booklet by mail.

Finally was able to use one of these coupons to get Apollo 13 @ walmart for $15

damn, now I might have to go and try to use another coupon @ bestbuy to get the 250rz points, and then return my other copy back to walmart

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD

Used this coupon with practically no problem at Best Buy on "The Hurt Locker" (sale price $19.99, down to $14.99 with coupon). The clerk scanned the Blu-ray, then the coupon, and the computer seemed to accept it but didn't reduce the price (probably automatically accounting for the "good on regularly priced items" restriction). A manager was right there and manually punched in the $5 coupon, saying, "This happens with manufacturer's coupons all the time. Sorry!"

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD

Finally got Best Buy to honor this. Had to scope out the checkout person and see who would be the best fit. Picked a dude. Got Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up, and Pitch Black (thanks to my wife and coworkers for printing me coupons). Of course the guy accidentally scanned two of Sarah Marshall. I didn't notice til I got back to the car so I had to run back in and wait 10 min at customer service to get that fixed.

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD

I used mine today on Apollo 13 at Target. The lady checking me out seemed to think it was a fake or something and said something along the lines of "well its telling me its not the right movie but I gave it to you anyways". Like I was trying to scam them or something. Whatever, wound up getting it for around $15.89.
