Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD
I went in to walmart and saw that they have "The last starfighter" on blu... Went up front and the coupon spit out some little thing from the register denying it. They sent me to the CS counter and the [employee] took one look and said "was this printed on the Internet??" like that was the problem and very lazily ... trys scanning it and says "well if the system won't take it I have no way to over ride it"

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD
The first part happened to me too, only they dealt with it in line. I was using it on the Last Starfighter blu-ray/dvd combo. The guy called his manager over and she looked at it. They agreed it should work, so they just used the "vendor coupon" button/option and ran it through manually. That, and no tax, made the total $10.
yeah, I went back later that day to get that and apollo 13, they just hit vendor coupon and voila

Guess I'll have to pass on this. I've never used Facebook before and don't ever plan to. I don't know how it works nor do I know what "being their friend" means nor do I have the time to learn how Facebook works. I just know I hear about identity theft and people stealing information from that site, so I don't want to provide Facebook with my real info just to get 2 $5 off BD coupons. It would've been nice, but life goes on without... unless I can have an account there without my real info? (Somehow I doubt that as they specialize in collecting and storing people's personal info.)
The pertinent section reads:
"While the coupons look standard, their bar codes can be loaded with a startling amount of data, including identification about the customer, Internet address, Facebook page information and even the search terms the customer used to find the coupon in the first place." There's more elaborative information in the article.

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD
Best Buy today... the Cashier checked something in her drawer in comparison to my coupon. Then said she had to verify that I didn't have a coutnerfeit internet coupon. I said nope it is legit from Universal's facebook. She said yep she could tell it wasn't fake. She said there have been a lot of attempts to pass off counterfeit internet coupons.... While I didn't find out what identifies a counterfeit, I bet it is due to the overlaying items that print but wouldn't photocopy correct... maybe.. but it really doesn't matter since mine was a legit coupon on a legit product...

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD
Lol. Isn't it obvious that it's a Universal Studios coupon? Ugh. I'm not even going to get into this nonsense again. There isn't even a chance a mistake was made here, unlike the other guy's situation. I guess I'll leave it at that.

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD
After having a "polite" argument w/ the cashier at BB today, I was finally able to use one of these coupons and picked up Apollo 13 for $15. And when I get home and take my items out of the bag, guess what it is in the bag... yep, she put my coupon in my bag

Edit: looks like Wanted at Wally World may be a good bet.

Picked up Fletch at BB for $5. The transaction took damn near 20 minutes after three clerks looked it over and gave the "counterfeit internet coupons are floating around" speech, who eventually called the manager that showed up 15 minutes later, he went off to verify it online and finally was able to override it. Apparently it was the first instance of the coupon being used there.

Ugh. Another second-week price drop on a new release. Going to have to make my way out to Best Buy sometime this week and price-match "Apollo 13."

The Bourne Trilogy. Lowest price prior: $49.99.
Individual Bourne BDs. Lowest price prior: $15.49.
Current price for the individual BDs after coupon: $11.99.
Very tempted despite the fact they're the BD+DVD combo disc.
Most likely will purchase An American Werewolf In London. Amazon had it for a brief period of time for $13.99; but $11.99 (after coupon) has been the best price since its release.
Land of the Lost will be $11.99 (after coupon), however, after being found for $10-12 on Black Friday with no coupon; I can wait for the price to dip below $10.
If I can get enough friends and family to give me their coupons, this may be the week I get Children of Men.
