You don't 'become a fan' on facebook anymore, you just 'like' it.

You can't get this coupon from them anymore anyway. So no real reason to "become a fan" or "like" Universal.

Any good prices on 40 Yr Old Virgin anywhere? I dont have any of the apatow movies on DVD, and I picked up Sarah Marshall, Funny People, and Knocked Up with these coupons, so I thinking my Apatow movies will on be on blu.

Frys in Downers Grove refused to take it.

Was able to use it at Best Buy for Hot Fuzz.

It's getting down to the wire and I'm having trouble finding a good title. I'll have to try Target this coming weekend for something else.

I should ask Robert Harris if I can have his coupons.

Successfully used my coupon over the weekend on Carlito's Way at Wal-Mart. The cashier really studied the coupon intensely and granted the $5.00 savings upon entering a manual override. Picked up for $15.00 which still beat Amazon's price at the time by $3.00, plus I got to watch it the next day.

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD

One that I am leaning towards is Seabiscuit, which is on sale at BB for $14.99, so $9.99 plus tax after the coupon. Of the Universal titles, this is the only one on sale that really does anything for me, or that I want.

Here are few at BB that I have found, there are some others on sale, but nothing that really did much for me.

Seabiscuit................ $14.99
12 Monkeys ..............$14.99
Burn after reading .....$12.99
Doomsday.................$12.99
Inside Man................$12.99

I have 1 coupon left still. I keep debating either 12 Monkeys or Army of Darkness for $10 at Best Buy, but can't seem to talk myself into either.

So I decide to take the plunge on Army of Darkness at Best Buy, and the cashier shot me down because it was on sale. First time I've ever had an issue there.

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD

I only have the one coupon--I wasn't creative like some of you, and none of my friends care enough about saving me money to have given me their coupons, and I've been staring at the dwindling calendar. Apparently, my local Walmart's way of dealing with the coupon has been to simply not stock any eligible titles during the month of May. I just got back from there, and the only two Universal Blus I could find in the newly remodeled electronics department were The Hangover ($29.96) and Inglorious Basterds ($24.96). I've heard good things, but even with the coupon that's a $20+ blind buy I just can't justify. Half Price Books is having a 20% off sale that started today, so I think while I'm out that way I'll check out Target and see if I can find anything more to my liking there.

What really irks me is that Walmart had a handful of $15 Universal Blus in stock until literally the day after I printed my coupon. I'd have been very happy with American Gangster for $10!

"The Hangover" isn't Universal.

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD

I'm planning to pick up Serenity BD from Borders by combining their 40%-off coupon (good through Saturday) with the $5-off Universal coupon. If all goes well, the total should come to $11.19. Borders accepts manufacturers coupons, but they may balk at the "regular price" wording on the coupon. Too bad I missed the earlier $7.99 deal at Frys.

Re: Universal facebook five dollar coupon any BD

Actually found a deal to use my last coupon at Best buy
They had a 2 for 20 deal where you could get either funny people, thing, 8 mile. inside man, street fighter, doom, waterworld, forgetting sarah marshall, jarhead.
I only had 1 coupon left and got funny people and thing. The deal is visible online. And is in store when they hit total button. West coast people might still be able to get there today. my store closes at 8.

Alice in Wonderland? No, it's Disney, hence the $10 off Disney coupon

He Directed Sweeny Todd which was a Paramount release. Corpse Bride was Warner. Planet of the Apes was Fox. All of his work is spread around so not sure where you got the Universal thing from.

Do they own him or something?

I wasn't aware of any directors that are bound to release only under one label. There are quiet a few that do it out of loyalty or respect, but not because they have to.

Some directors will sign a contract with a studio to make so many films for them. Whether or not that contract binds them to that studio so that they couldn't make films elsewhere, I'm not sure (and it may be different for different contracts). If the contract only states that they have to make a certain number of films for the studio and doesn't call for exclusivety, then they could potentially make movies for other studios as long as they fulfill their quota for the contracted studio. But I wouldn't doubt that most of the contracts call for exclusivety.

But for the most part, you're right. Most directors are just loyal to the studio.
