Ghost in the shell is a interesting show. I'm not sure if I like it or not. The original movie is probably the best or at least I think it is. The other movies and mini series kind of get bogged down in the meaning of nonsense.

I just had to post these beauties! The first is the Robotech Blu-ray cover art for the US release. The second is the Japanese release of Innocence on Blu-ray in a Steelbook!

Same thing. That's the Japanese edition, and in Japan the film was just billed as Innocence or Innocence: Ghost in the Shell.

(Even though the first GitS made record-breaking sales in the US and Europe, it did poorly in Japan. Supposedly Oshii was afraid that Japanese audiences would avoid the film if they called it Ghost in the Shell 2 domestically, since so few people would have even remembered that the first film existed.)

so, they are going to re-release the whole set of titles as opposed to continue where they left off?

Does anyone know the status of Geneon titles not listed in the press release (ex. Gankutsuou, Gun Sword, etc.)? Are they basically still considered DISCONTINUED until further notice? Some comments on some other boards makes it sound like Funimation has rights to ALL Geneon titles (excluding of course those titles that have already been passed on to other companies).

They are discontinued until further notice. FUNimation is only distributing select Geneon series. Once all of these releases have been released, they may decide to do something different.

ADV Films News & Information

I actually wanted to get comments on the above post from the AoD forum here (posting on AoD currently feels like spitting into a hurricane). This is the only comment/post that I have every seen with regard to the reissue collections from ADV having extras when the original releases did not. Everything else I have seen has implied that the reissues were exactly the same as the original releases just with different box art (if the original had extras, the reissue does to and if they original had no extras, the reissue doesn't either). Can anyone comment as to whether this guy is sadly mistaken? Or if this is actually true? If true I have a couple of collections I may need to upgrade.

It's partially incorrect. Numerous (not all) ADV re-release collection will have extras added back into the collection (even if the original complete collection didn't include extras). If you need examples, I can did the information up. There are also re-release collections that won't include the extras. At the moment, there is no pattern of how they do this.

Yes, a list of the ADV reissue collections that are not just the original collection with new box art would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for the info.

Is the Hellsing Ultimate the same series that came with Steelbooks? In other words, I am trying to find out if we will get a fourth Steelbook. Thanks.

We don't know yet. There are conflicting information and the Hellsing Ultimate LEs. And also there hasn't bee enough information. Hopefully the intel will be released sometime in the upcoming weeks.

It will have three volumes. This is just the first wave of the Geneon titles that will come out. There will be more Geneon releases later this year.

You would just have to be patient. FUNimation has tons of materials on their plate. I think they have over 100 properties that they have a hand on (including the Sojitz titles and Geneon titles). Certain titles will just have to wait for its turn.
