That's the thing about Anime, there's almost always something risque in just about every show. It's been a while since I watched HMM and I certainly remember that there was some fan service in it, but I recall it as being an overall sweet show. Angelic Layer, Kamichu, Petite Princess Yucie and Strawberry Marshmallow are definitely safe shows(as well as being very good).

Although no official statement has been made, word of mouth around town is that ADV is having some serious financial problems remarkably similar to Geneon. I know a couple ppl who worked there that are now looking for jobs. So they seemed to have let go of most of their staff in recent weeks and sold off some of their key dvd properties (Funimation to the rescue?)

I would guess it was back in early Spring, when everything got quiet from ADV, that Sojitz / Arm told ADV that they were unsatisfied with ADV and that they were going to explore other options.

I just saw Death Note recently... Very unique series - I enjoyed first 3 discs, but it seems like they changed direction on disc 4 and 5. It seems it got little bored when
. I hope it gets exciting when disc 6 and 7 come out.
One thing that bothered me that they showed a spoiler in main menu (where the second Kira was captured) that I haven't seen that part. They shouldn't have put it there.

Hey all, is there an Anime Buy/Sell/Trade thread? I noticed that Wal-Mart Canada has big end caps of random anime DVDs right now where all the titles are 4.88. I picked up three volumes (1,2,6) of Mobile Fighter G-Gundam.
I'd like to try and find some more volumes of it, but I'm not sure if I can find other Canadians to check Wal-Marts for me, or if some boardmembers might have it for sale or trade.
I'm a casual Anime fan and generally watch:
Trigun
Cowboy Bebop
Escaflowne
Outlaw Star
Gundam Wing
Yu Yu Hakusho
DB/DBZ/DBGT
I figured the 4.88 sale was a good place to grab some other stuff cheap...

There's an anime bargain thread in DVD Bargain forum (this link will take you there: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=536819). You can get all information on special deals on anime DVDs.

Mania.com / AoD:
...I believe Shigurui: Death Frenzy is actually the first anime TV series planned for release in the US.
FUNimation's upcoming release of Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles in September has come in and some interesting tidibts are revealed in their Anime Source: Blu-ray Edition pamphlet. Similar to the Anime Source pamphlet's in their DVD releases, this one is dedicated to their high definition Blu-ray releases. Afro Samurai is the cover piece for it and they highlight other releases and the upcoming Dragon Ball Z releases and Vexille. The also provide a great little timeline of releases up through 11/11/2008 of this year with what's formally announced. They have added in a wonderful little tease though that will excite many. Coming soon with no dates yet:
- Samurai 7 Complete Series Box Set
- Genghis Khan - To The End of the Earth and Sea
- One Piece - Movie 8: The Desert Princess and the Pirates - Adventures in Alabasta

nevertheless.. I still have my utmost support to VIZ and their continuing release of the Death Note Series (especially the limited edition boxsets)

Oh.. for the lowest possible Death Note Vol. 6 -.. I suggest Bestbuy (until Aug. 31st) you can get it for $26.99 with the coupon below
***** Looks like Viz Media did some price markdowns with their Deathnote LE (from $34.99 to $29.99)

Out of curiosity, did anyone else's Death Note 6 LE Rem figure come with two little white strips in a tiny plastic bag taped to the base? They look like tape or stickers. Any idea what those are for? I don't think any of the other figures had them.

My copy had that as well. I'm sure that it wasn't with the previous deluxe editions.
