I’m not interested in getting one just yet but people that have ordered via Walmart are reporting they immediately get their orders canceled.

I have one sitting in my cart. I already have two preorders so not getting this one but curious if it really is available. It even says arriving by June 5th.

3 to be exact. just like to have all that i can just in case. 1 for console and the 2 for spare storage down the line since every new game will be digital, mostly.

WTF Dude??? You paid $60 for 256 gb THREE TIMES??? You know that the price of memory always goes down. It'll be way cheaper in a year when you might need that storage

And the fact that you had to try to sell your unused and unwanted extra Switch memory cards here didn't teach you to not hoard them?

I'm compulsive, what can I say? I'm trying. it's not easy, but it is what it is. I've been better lately. much better.

Okay. Just talk me through your thinking -- the delineation between getting one memory card early, which seems a little over-prepared, but arguably could be a smart move, and getting three, which seems incomprehensible to the rest of us -- even more so after you found it was a bad idea with the Switch. What's the worst that could happen if you run out of space with one? You delete a game for the time being and order another card, right? The alternative is pretty clear since you already experienced it -- you overpay for memory cards you don't need and don't use.

that's the thing with being compulsive, there are no easy explanations to what we do sometimes. I bought one for the console, obviously. but then I like to future proof my investment and just have it rather not having it. I know my 1.5TB micro in SW1 is nearly full. thus, I would have used a backup which I already had prepped and ready to go, rather than being screwed or have to wait to get it. again, I am not condoning my actions at all. I realize it's so stupid to do something like this. like tremendously moronic in fact. but it's a disease. and frankly if I didn't use credit, then no way in hell I would have done it. and that's the truth. I would never use my own money (for nearly $200ea) because I am conscious that way. but I figured I have a lot of credit, so what's the harm? again, that's my brain thinking and thinking badly, but sometimes can't be simply explained.

what really kills me is that Amazon counts your orders in certain time increments. it told me how many I ordered in past 3 months and I had a mini stroke. it was outrageous and so non-sensical.

How would you be screwed?
There is no way you are playing 1.5 TB of Switch games concurrently.

Oh my OldBoy. You bought three of the 1tb cards?? Wow....return them my friend. At least return two of them. There's absolutely no reason you need that. Memory prices drop all the time. There's zero reason to keep all the games on there at one time. Especially at this stage. I can see downloading everything if and when the servers shut down but that'll be years down the road.

Added bonus : you'll get MORE AMAZON CREDIT when you return it!

look, I know I have a problem. I'm not denying it. why I do things sometimes even I don't know, but it truly is a sickness that I have been working on. that's all I can really say. I'm not saying it's logical, I'm not saying it's smart, at all, but as I said it is hard and I sometimes do things impulsively, well, maybe more impulsivity than anything else as long as I'm not in debt, can take care of myself and others in my life, I feel it's ok, but I know it isn't. That's truly my bad. So, if I spend more and it's not affecting the bottom-line that is how I rationalize it. Again, not saying it's full proof. It's just done by a fool.

To be clear : Thanks for being honest with your struggles. I feel for you. You don't have to explain yourself to me or anyone else here if you don't want to.

That said, If I could ask just one follow up question : Given that it's impulsive spending and you realize you just spent a lot more than you needed to, and given that you've not used them, why not just return two of the three massive, expensive memory cards now? Are returns not allowed?

I could be wrong but I think the those were actually for his Switch 1 that he bought months before the release of the Switch 2. And I'm sure he is past the return window.

No he bought THREE 1TB SD Express cards for the Switch 2 already! After that other mistake! And I'm trying to get him to return two while he (presumably) still can.

not even close. and as Decker pointed out they were already bought by me so obviously they exist, but not even close to $1000 (no way i would do that then). They are $175 about.

as for returning them, I could do that, certainly, but i don't have the packaging anymore and I figure it's going to go back to my credit anyway and g-d knows I don't need that. so, in my head, what's done is done and I just wish to keep them all. can't explain more clearly or make any more sense of it than you guys, but it's a disease that I just have to keep working on better than I have, but I have been a little better.

If they’re still sealed, you can return them via the UPS Store or Kohl’s; they don’t have to be returned in an Amazon mailer. (Amazon will give you options about how you want to return it, and local returns make the outgoing packaging their problem rather than yours.)
