Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Haven’t actually bought a Switch yet, maybe today.
Looks like you need to be on a Switch to claim the free no gravity games. Or is there a way to claim them from a browser? |

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Code redemption attempt gives me this error code:
Error Code 9001-0023To continue, please access Nintendo eShop on a system linked to this Nintendo Account.Maybe the daily games will work from a browser once I get a no gravity game in my account? Hmmm. |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Try accessing from the new Nintendo Store App, available from Apple App and Google Play store.

Maybe if I buy a cheap no gravity game thru the app the daily freebie will then work. Or I’ll just stop by Costco after this movie and finally buy my Switch. Thanks for the help Decker, you’re one of our best. |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Found this on Nintendo support, looks like I need to access an actual Switch at least once.

Ah, well I've certainly done THAT before.

Got my two free games from NoGravity!
Just had to spend $550 at Costco…… |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Retro Drive: Revamped is the 2nd free game of the Switchmas 2025 event hosted by No Gravity Games.
|
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Strangely it showed as a free download online but gave me an error message when I tried to purchase it. Got it from the Switch itself though.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Just got a Switch 2 "for my kids" for Christmas.
I may have to open it up and make sure everything is properly set up and in working order so that they can play right out of the box on Christmas morning. |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Bubble Trouble: Adventures is the 3rd free game of the Switchmas 2025 event hosted by the No Gravity Games.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
I actually checked out the first two free games yesterday
Retro Driving is somehow even worse than you'd imagine it would be. Bullets and Brains is actually a pretty competent and fun mission-based twin stick shooter with Roguelike elements. That one's not bad. |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
So a couple new to the Switch world questions if you don’t mind.
The Costco package came with a year of the Unlimited Plus service. Am I correct in thinking that this comes with a boatload of classic games to play for free? I’m a nostalgia gamer, so think old gameboy and GameCube games will satisfy me. Looks like I should probably buy a screen protector and a case. Paying $50+ for a new game is something I’ll likely never do. Do the top tier titles ever go on sale anywhere? Or Nintendo shop credit? TrevorDVDT is my username if we do the friends thing here. |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
I certainly wouldn't call it a boatload of GC games, but I think it comes with 6. Many other older games though.
The first party Switch 2 have not yet been on sale besides the one day on Friday on Amazon that I mentioned before $10 off Bananza. |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
One True Hero is the 4th free game of the Switchmas 2025 event hosted by the No Gravity Games.

https://www.costco.com/digital-codes...ibility-ShipIt First party and other AAA titles occasionally go on sale, either in the eShop or digital/physical copies at other stores. I use Deku Deals to track them: https://www.dekudeals.com/ You can sign up and add games to your wishlist, and Deku Deals will alert you when it goes on sale. You can even set a threshold of how much you want to pay, although I'd check the pricing history for the game to confirm that you set a price that's realistically likely to happen. For an example, Deku Deals shows that Gamestop is currently selling new physical copies of Mario and Luigi: Brothership, normally a $59.99 game, for $25.00: https://www.gamestop.com/video-games...ch/411897.html |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
One more thing, especially if you already have a nintendo switch online subscription:
There is a program (that I think is going away?) called Nintendo Switch vouchers, only for people who have a sub: https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/pr...game-vouchers/ Basically 100 bucks in eshop points gives you two "vouchers" for any game on the list. And again you can get eshop points at a discount from costco. This is digital only and there are non nintendo games on there as well (and some that go for much cheaper than 50 bucks) but for the most part, it's a great way to get Nintendo 1st party games at release at a discount. These are all switch 1 versions but most of these can be upgraded to switch 2 versions for 10 bucks. But yeah check dekudeals first. |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Yeah, that’s ending January 30th.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Thanks guys!
Will my 2 play every physical Switch game? Or are some 1 only or OLED only? |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
The voucher program sounds fairly good, especially since I’m Costco. So $90 gets me two games, leaning towards a Zelda game and Metroid Prime for now.
Edit to add: Oh, Advance Wars! Loved that back in the day. |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Every switch 1 to my knowledge plays every switch 1 game equally; the only caveat is if you have a Lite you might need joycons to play some games. However there are some switch 1 games that cannot be played on switch 2 because of compatibility issues, I'm sure there's a list somewhere but they should be listed in the eshop as such as well.

Both Zelda games and MP4 have upgraded Switch 2 versions. The upgrades cost $10 additional each, BUT your NSO + Expansion membership will give you the Zelda upgrades for free (as long as your membership is active). It does not provide free upgrades for MP4, Pokémon Legends Z-A or the upcoming Animal Crossing Switch 2 version (which is only $5)
But for Metroid and Pokemon Legends Z-A, if you want physical just check at costco, they have both switch 2 versions for 62.99 which is just a little more expensive than the eshop/voucher/upgrade method, particularly if you want physical. |
