these download virtual cards take forever. I'm doing 2 and already my battery is at 89%.

yes. Switch 1 games never took so long and never drained my battery to now while it's downloading a game is at 84%. Still has 22 minutes to go, but this drain battery factor is something.

i think all in all, with all the preorder jitters and all the negative talk, now that it's here, everything went so breezy.

Drove over to the Ala Moana shopping center and bought a Switch bundle from Target. Requested cancelation of the delayed one from Walmart. Fuck those guys!

So I will have a Switch 2 to play (briefly) on the flight home.
Unfortunately the last case sold to the guy directly in front of me.

Anecdotally the bundles are sold out in nearby targets but a few still have the individual consoles. Which is ridiculous considering they want to ship my online order a week out.

Went to Target to pick up cat food around noon. They still had 15 consoles left (no bundle). Went ahead and grabbed one for myself.

Might be worth checking the Target app to see if any have stock nearby, if possible. Then cancel the online order.

They have grips for the GameCube controller. I had no idea they existed, but sure enough. Love my grips.

The problem is I can't cancel the online order, even though it hasn't shipped yet. Apparently you can chat to complain and get up to 10% off but I wasn't so lucky.

I did. At the end of the day I decided why not. Won’t get my Switch 2 until tomorrow though.

Okay so I tried to do the transfer but got stuck because it wanted both switches plugged into "AC adapter" and I don't have that big brick charging plug for the Switch 1 with me right now. I would assume that a regular USB charging block would work, but it doesn't. Not sure what to do now. 😞

dude, I had the same problem. I just used a spare usb to usb-c cable for SW2 and left og in its dock. Go to transfer to Switch 2 from your Switch 1, I believe. And then go to settings on SW2 and hit receive transfer from another console. I think that’s what did it ultimately though, is just hooking up usb-c to one console and then both have power. I think. Please don’t hate me if I’m wrong.

Just as a side note, I’m really glad most got what they wanted out of today and there weren’t too many horror stories. And I do feel for the ones still waiting. But all in all it kinda tickles me that it worked out for most of us.

That would work perfectly for me, except that my Switch dock is a little too far from the current location of my Switch 2.




Yeah, it says they have to be near each other in order to transfer. Sorry Deck. But, if I’m mistaken and you’re near old Switch, just plug usbc into SW2 and it should work. You can use the usb port on og Switch to plug in new Switch. But it has to be usb on one side of wire and usbc on other side.

Return after delivery? A lot of money to be out of pocket in the meantime though.

I did, although I haven’t really done anything other than the first HD Rumble quiz.

Mine comes tomorrow from GameStop, but my pro controller was just delivered. Had to open it and get it fully charged for tomorrow, it has a nice feel to it. Looking forward to some Mario Kart and the copy of Tears of the Kingdom that’s been sitting here since November.

Is there a USB port on the actual Switch unit? I don't have the dock.

Yeah, on the OG Switch and the Switch 2. I didn’t use a dock for either while doing the transfer.
