Skip it. It's incredibly uncomfortable to hold. Totally unbalanced and non-ergonomic.

The Kickstarter one. I think that was it. I've long since thrown it away.
Again, there's no need for it on a Switch 2 since it stands upright independently with its kickstand. |

As I posted earlier, I have a FlipGrip and I like it well enough. Haven’t used it more than 10 hours in the time I’ve had it, but I haven’t any complaints about it. I don’t have a strong opinion either way, and I recognize Decker’s opinion is valid.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
But it definitely changed from getting it to be cautious and wait for reviews.
Problem is I greatly loved portrait pinball but even if I put it right in front me of at a desk I'm sitting at, it's too small almost for these old eyes  |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
How do you access the Shuttle Hockey (air hockey) game in Super Mario Party Jamboree? Thanks in advance.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
I didn't know that I'd use the emulators as much as I am. Strikers is a TON of fun. Dr. Mario is always a classic, and Tetris will be played, and Mario Tennis is a blast. I can't wait and discover other hidden gems, I'm sure one of the systems has Mario Golf.
I don't know what it is about this machine but playing games on it that I've played in other platforms is more fun. Pinball FX is more fun than on the PC. Switch 1 games are more fun than on the Switch 1. It's just a perfectly formed machine. I wake up and fire up Donkey Kong and play an hour or two first instead of doing my Speedstorm dailies first. I'm using it a ton in both the handheld and docked mode. Love playing it on the 2nd PC screen and then just carrying it over to the bedroom to wind down before bedtime. I haven't even tried it on the 4k gaming screen, just on the 32 inch tv we use as a second monitor which was $100 like 4 years ago. I need to get the splitter going so that the Switch 2 is going to both screens and have the second switcher set up on the gaming screen, can't wait to see the difference. |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Well this is just fantastic, anyone with a Nintendo Online membership will be able to preview Drag X Drive for a couple of days around the 9th of August, great way to test out whether I will like it or not.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
That's cool. Game doesn't look like anything I'd be interested in, but at least I could try it out now.

Also from the general vibe people have a low opinion of Drag X Drive and as of right now I think it would sell horribly, so I think Nintendo is betting that if people tried it not only would they see how well the mouse controls work (and hence buy more mouse content in the future) but also how fun this game is to play and then buy it. I wish every game had like even a five minute demo. Want to hit the court in Drag x Drive? - News - Nintendo Official Site Want to hit the court in Drag x Drive?Get a sneak peek at the game’s fast-paced, unique action with the Drag x Drive: Global Jam demo event! This event will take place on Aug 9 and 10, exclusively on Nintendo Switch™ 2 for Nintendo Switch Online members.

How lame that it's only few hours. Give us a proper demo. I don't want to schedule my weekend around a friggin' demo.

I just came to post about Mario Paint
Didn't even cross my mind they could add mouse functionality to emulated games!! |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
MARIO PAINT!!
That's so awesome! The music is already running through my head. That's worth the $500 price of admission alone. :D |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Uhm... With Mario Paint you can dock it and use a real mouse!

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
doesn't exist in this title, though I thought someone said they saw it or played it.
Super Mario Party Jamboree on the Nintendo Switch 2 includes a variety of mini-games, but there's no specific "shuttle hockey" game mode. It features over 100 mini-games, some of which are new and utilize the Switch 2's enhanced capabilities, but there is no specific "shuttle hockey" game mode within the title. The game does include other multiplayer modes, like Tag-Team Rules where players work together. |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Play the game. That seems to be how to unlock it.

Why are joy-cons so expensive? they cost more than a SW2 Pro controller.

If anything, I'd at least wait until there's a cool collectable extra set of joy con 2's. |

Why do you need another set? Don't you already have plenty of controllers to use in a pinch? I can't imagine anyone needs another set unless they have a house full of little kids playing Mario Kart against each other.

GatorDeb, I apologize for the rude comments. It was uncalled for, and it was unprovoked. Sorry.

First up, you need to have bought the 20 bucks upgrade, just the original won't have the new stuff. Then, in a weird design decision, you won't find it in mini game bay. You need to go into the new TV part which has its own free play mini games section with all the mouse games. |

Oh boy! It’s been very quiet on the 3rd party front, so I guess this is when we’ll see the floodgates open.

That said, I am very happy to have spent $75 at Costco on a Pro Controller 2 just so I don't have to manually turn on the console any more when playing in the living room. |
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
I got a notification that Target has these available to ship and also in stock in several area stores. Looks like there is a new Switch 2 Pokemon bundle available too.
|
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
The Pokemon game and the bundle it comes in isn't out until Oct.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
The joycons have a lot of tech in them, so I get why they're expensive (well that and they make more off of accessories than the consoles, at least at launch). The question I have is, are they any more durable than the last generation?
|
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
I didn't understand grips until I got the S2 and actually play all the time, both docked and undocked. Recommendations for grips that make it more comfortable to hold while gaming but you can still dock it with the grips? Extra points if you can still slide the joycons in and out without having to do anything to the grips.
