rotfl

Even if that were news today and not know since April 2nd, it's the same information that Noonan posted just 5 posts above. Good thing we had a big enough font for the headline!

Wtf is your deal with me? I give you all my free digital codes, one being a game and you still rag on me like there’s no tomorrow. What’s up with that? It’s enough already. It’s like you wait for me to post and then swoop in minutes after. Seriously dude, chill out.

Why don't you just block him so that you don't see his posts?

Hey OB, I don't mean to offend. I like some of your posts.
And I often will defend you and answer your questions instead of telling you to Google the answer for yourself. So it's not like I'm your mortal enemy here.
And I'm not the only one pointing out when you're posting incorrect or redundant information here.

But, you know, just like last week, you posted your 'hot news story' without looking directly above it first out of courtesy to see if it was already posted. And, heck, your own link and headline says the story was [UPDATED] to reflect that there was no new information reported.

It feels like you're willfully ignoring the discussion when you do stuff like that.

There was an article I saw that speculated that Nintendo has over a million Switch 2 systems in the US already. Who knows if it is true.

Meta-data on target.com points to preorders going live on 4/30, though whether that’s an actual date or just a placeholder remains to be seen.

Well the Xbox and Game Cube launched just a couple of months after 9/11 and the XSX and PS5 both launched during the pandemic. But at least those had a confirmed price to pre-order.

Those also had different people running the country that, shall we say, were more consumer friendly!

That's where it should be, and all I've been trying to get across. Where they are, is $450-$500 which should bring better specs with the inflated price.

It's also telling that it's over $100 cheaper in Japan and around $330, which is, wait for it, exactly what I've been saying.

Several people have commented the price AND the performance. Even when we don't even know what that performance is. So saying that some of y'all are expecting PS5 level performance for $300 is not a stretch.

And if I'm exaggerating I'm not the only one. $450 isn't anywhere near $700.

But honestly I don't think we're that far apart on our thoughts. I think everyone agrees it's expensive.

But.....there might be some hope yet at least in terms of the performance side of things.

Basically it's definitely better performing than the steam deck. And possibly even better performing than the PS4 Pro. And this is all based on a launch day port that's not even optimized to Nintendo's hardware. If it can look this good imagine what Nintendo is going to do with this ability. So it seems like it's definitely outperforming it's price point as far as PC handhelds are concerned. And again, it's a hand held so yes the comparison is valid. So maybe we're getting quite a bit of machine for our $450?

I checked over the weekend that I have had a Nintendo online membership for six years and five months. I hope this will be enough to get an email from Nintendo and let me purchase one directly from them.

It would be nice to know before the store pre-orders go live.
I am not sure I have been sharing my gameplay data with Nintendo and don't have that many hours played the past few years (mostly on planes and on vacation). But I certainly put in a hundred into Animal Crossing during the pandemic.

I agree, it stinks not know if you qualify or not. I'm not taking any changes. If and when they will pre-order from a store, I will definitely go that route first. If I strike out, hopefully Nintendo will send me a link to pre-order.

This is the most ridiculous, outrageous, confusing, disastrous release, probably in history, no? I never would have cared because I have never purchased a console on launch. hell, I bought the Switch 1 a few months before it becomes defunct. but now that I'm invested because of my new found love of the first as many of you know. My OCD, as many of you know, is like in overdrive because of all this news. Will they or won't they. Will "He" or won't "He". so many fucking questions that everyone seems to be confused about especially the makers of the product that we want. I mean Nintendo couldn't have foreseen this, but handle it better, dude. Give us consistent answers if you can. And, it seems like it's all our (USA)'s fault because of this whole fucking tariff thing. It affects us all in different ways of course, but c'mon already. This is absolutely stupid, confusing and messed the fucked up. /rant over

Also, for those that thought the GameCube controller would have been cool thing, which I did as well, I read yesterday that their new controller will only be compatible with the online GameCube games. won't work on any other SW2 game. just adding insult to injury.

I mean it hasn't even been released yet, that's a little hyperbolic, don't you think?

And how exactly would you like Nintendo to handle this (that doesn't set themselves up to lose a lot of money on their main source of income)?

Disastrous launch to me is if the hardware and software suck at launch, or if you can't get it like months after release.

There are something like 2300 Gamestops in the US (hard to get an exact count due to closures), so that is 200,000 just at Gamestop. Best Buy, Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc will have some also. Maybe not ideal, but that doesn't seem so bad.

Hell, if Nintendo is so worried about margin, just only sell it direct in the US. Cut out 3rd party resellers completely and take all the retail price margin for themselves.

A hundred systems are a lot for one store. When I stood in line back 2020 to pre-order a PS5, GameStop only had six. Lucky for me, I was number five. If this report is true, we should all have no issue getting one.

Unless it's like 3.

97 for store employees to check out, 3 for customers. Trust us, this hasn't been opened.

Mario Kart bundle will only be available until sometime this Fall. "While Supplies Last" rotfl

I didn't realize digital codes had a finite supply.

Decker 04-17-25 08:48 AM

re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25

Like I said before, demand for the bundle is going to be really high at launch because it's the closest thing to a "deal" one can get, and because why else would you buy a Switch 2 at launch if you weren't planning on getting MKW? To play Elden Ring on a Nintendo handheld?
Bundles are always limited time things -- at least since the Wii.

I don't mind that it's limited. I laugh because they used the term "while supplies last" for a digital product.

Regarding the bolded, I'll be buying one at launch so I can re-play Wind Waker.

That is an idiotic reason to buy a $500 console, or so I keep telling myself to try to stop from buying one for that exact same reason.

Correct. A Kart racing game isn’t worth $50 to me. I’d never play it.

Same boat.

Kind of disappointed though that I'm most looking forward to playing remasters of old Xenoblade Chronicles games on a console at launch, rather than something new. Frankly the Nintendo line up is pretty weak until Metroid, whenever that is.

If I had more discipline I'd probably pick up an OLED Steam Deck rather than the Switch 2, but I'm no match for FOMO.
