Oh wow. I didn't even bother reading it at first since I assumed it had to be the characters. Reading up, it seems Nintendo has a ton of patents on game mechanics, which they probably have never used in a suit before. And apparently, they filed for a patent on throwing a ball to capture a monster mechanic AFTER Palworld released. Pretty scummy move, IMO.

Yeah in reading up on this I learned that the “arrow” in Crazy Taxi was patented so up until around 2016, no other game was allowed to have a pointing arrow when navigating.

Interesting to see how this shakes up. If Niantic wins what happens to those of us who bought Palworld? I already met my hour played per dollar spent ratio so I'm good and loved it, but do we lose access without refund?

I’m not 100%, but I think it was mentioned to be about the capturing mechanic.
