I saw some people on TikTok playing this game and thought this was some kind of Pokémon Fan Game :lol:

Playing on Series X. Have had to restart a few times tweaking the difficulty. Sucks you have to start a new world when you wanna change difficulty settings. I haven't found a way to change an existing world? Looking at lowering the survival difficulty aspect as im not a huge fan of that gametype.

What I played so far I'm having a blast! The tiny monsters are cute but early enough I haven't found one that's armed.

Anyone else playing?

Got a month of Gamepass to try it out and I LOVE it. Ticks off all the Pokemon boxes. There's just so much to do and many ways of approaching gameplay. It's going into my wishlist. I've only played an hour and a half so far due to lack of time and other live service games. But this is a keeper, huge fan. I'll play what I can in that month and then just wait for a sale (signed up yesterday, was able to find a one month code for $3.18).

In case this affects your decision at all, the Gamepass (and console) version is currently months behind the Steam version because MS can take three+ days to vet updates before posting them. I think the patches are in the vetting process, but who knows.

Yeah apparently servers are Steam only. I bit on the steam version (I also like their timekeeping better than Microsoft and Epic). Wasted three bucks on the month of gamepass but I could have very well not liked it so it is what it is.

Can't wait to try servers.

OMG this game is hilarious. I have just over 2.5 hours on it (not counting the 1.5 hours I played on Gamepass). There's just so many ways to play and so many things to focus on.

I mean having a Pokemon-like game is not what Nintendo would go after. Actually using assets (or using AI to use assets) and putting it in your game, they likely have to at least investigate.

I'm 4.5 hours in. I got my base to 7 to finish the tutorial but other than building a two story structure all I've done is catch Pokémon. I find it very relaxing. I wish I had more time to play. I could spend hours just catching pokemon.

Is this easy to get into? I’ve never played a Pokémon game and do t know what all these cards and gathering stuff is all about. And, what is this game not finished? Is there an end? Why would a developer put out an unfinished game? I’ve never heard of that.

Early access games are very common. They let you play it earlier and they get feedback. Most of the time early backers get an in game bonus when it ends the early access period.

You can
Catch Pokémon by hand
Catch Pokémon by weapon
Catch Pokémon by using your pokemon to fight them
Build a base along with a farm and put your pokemon to work for you, I think you can make them build things too
Build a home structure with walls, roofs, mirrors, furniture
Battle other people throughout the world
Catch materials throughout the world to better your pokemon
Upgrade pokemon, weapons, skills. There's a gigantic skills tree to unlock.
Find pokemon eggs and hatch them in incubators.
Breed pokemon of different species and see what you get.
I'm probably forgetting other things.

By the way there's no cards.

Sounds big. I think too big for me to gangle right now. Too bad not on ps55. Either way, I would like to get to it, but alas…

What do you mean, catch Pokémon? What do you do with them? The review i saw showed a nice 3rd person shooter with all sorts of colorful and wonderful creatures.

If Nintendo is mad about Pokémon they might want to get mad about Zelda as well. It’s like the creators sat down and played BotW and were like “what can we take from
this?”

It’s very fun though.

The same Devs made Craftopia. Very similar to breath of the wild and Nintendo never went after them when that came out.
