I still have yet to finish the story, so I can also wait for a drop. But the new characters are interesting.

It's pretty funny that "Noob-Saibot" (Ed Boon and John Tobias's names combined...for those that don't know) is still a thing. Even funnier considering Noob is Sub Zero.
I'm very interested how the T-1000 will play as well.

Wow, this game just got beefed the F up. They re-did everything including the towers. You can even change what startup menu screen you want.
Animality's are great and not just some extra fluff. There are a ton more brutalities (including the guest characters) new stages with multiple variances, Invasions has been refined, and of course the three new characters along with a new story.
I love this f'n game lol.

I'm not big on guest characters (but they're growing on me) but Ghostface is awesome - his mannerisms, fatalities, brutalities, taunts, and overall style of play are all perfect.

No love for Conan huh? He was a great guest character as well.
I'm guessing "Madam Bo" was the final surprise that Ed Boon was talking about - I could be wrong though:

For some reason, I assumed the Conan trailer was already posted here.
Fun interaction between the T-1000 and Conan.

I can’t wait…. To not play it. I never understood the hype for this series.

For the longest time, I've always loved the characters in Mortal Kombat, but just never really liked any of the games that much with the exception of the very first one which I fell in love with immediately upon its release to the arcade.
I just didn't like the combo system in any of these games until I actually just sat down and gave it a try.....I got hooked because I realized that they weren't difficult to do and even though there are many levels to how good you can get at them, an average player who knows some decent combos can go pretty far in online play.
A ton of TLC went into MK1 as well, it's still one of the best-looking games to date and the animations are outstanding, and I love collecting the skins for the characters I like to play. Invasions, while pretty craptastic, still has its moments.
Lastly, when you play online, it gets intense, yes, the feeling tends to wear off the more you play, but it's still, and will always be a great feeling. You also feel like you "own" the character as well when you win - it just feels like the characters come to life a bit more when you beat another person online.
Lastly, the characters personalities, yes, the stories tend to usually be lacking in the MK series, but in MK1, it's their best outing, but where character personality really shines is in the little areas like what they say during and after a fight, their taunts, the dialogue exchanges before a fight, and their mannerisms in general.
The brutalities: They're addicting because they happen in-match - they're in-match finishing moves and there are about 8 per character. Fatalities and animalities are fun and definitely even add more enjoyment, but brutalities are where it's at.
Once you find out you don't need to be a pro or invest much time in pulling off cool combos, you get hooked by this game.

I'm not sure why you would even bother posting in a thread for something you don't even like, but I'll bite:

I get loving the first one since it started it all and we all were wowed by it at the time, I just don't get how you could love that game and not the second one.

2 and, in my opinion, 3 were phenomenal games when they came out. I recall playing both of those in the arcades and on SNES, and don’t remember any specific performance differences, though I’m sure there were some. Just less obvious than the first game.

To me it was much like Street Fighter 2, MK2 greatly expanded the roster (even though it meant not every character was as viable) and lore, and it "fixed" the slow moving combat of the first iteration.

I absolutely hate paying for DLC. But the T-1000 and Conan the barbarian add-ons do look pretty cool.

Yep, i was let down by the second, BUT, I loved a lot of the characters of course. I was expecting it to be more "realistic" looking like the first - the first had grounded tone to it that was awesome. Instead the blood looked like jelly and I didn't like how cartoony it looked.
