Why do the dates for both MS and PS stores still show this as coming out 4/4?

That's when it comes out for PS4 and Xbox One. PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC comes out February 10th. It comes out in July for Switch.

It depends on the system version, as mentioned prior in the thread:

Which version between PS5 and XBSX (if you have both) are you getting and why?

Even if it sucks or gets a low score, all the Potter-ite's will eat it up. I haven't seen all the movies but it's an interesting franchise.

I’m the same. I think I saw every one at least once. But not a huge fan. Always good effects. But, the game I hope plays to not just Potterites.

It got a 9 from IGN. Sounds like they really like it.

ACG is a pretty tough critic and he really liked it.
I have a huge backlog. I'm going to wait for bug fixes and a price drop.

I'm not a HP fan, but this game has me intrigued. Once I get thru my pile of shame a bit, I'll likely pick this up.

Hogwarts Legacy: The Final Preview - IGN
I'm not review bombing the game, but at the same time, I cannot in good conscience give money to anything that supports JKR and her brand of transphobia. It doesn't matter that she had no involvement in creating the game. Anything with Harry Potter branding supports her, and I cannot do that anymore.

There is a transgender character in the game. (I'm not trying to influence your decision in any way)

I'm aware. It still ultimately supports JKR, and I can't do that.

Re: Hogwarts Legacy - 2/10/23 (Xbox, PS, Steam)

For the life of me I don't get why JKR was so vocal about her transphobia. I have to think it was reactionary -- she said something she shouldn't and then rather than apologize and move on, she double-downed on her regressive views in the face of an angry Twitter mob. Really unfortunate, as she really did create something very special and wonderful and brought joy to so many kids and adults, and now has tainted all her work by spouting off ugly views. Didn't need to come to that.

Dang. This is something my kids would probably want to play but they're not playing this on my next gen consoles. That switch wait is brutal (and the other versions will be long discounted when it comes out full price and likely gimped)

Definitely on my list but won't be ordering it until I finish Horizon and maybe try Gotham Knights again. There is zero reason to pre-order a game like this that should have a price drop pretty soon since it's available for everything.

It has all sorts of graphical struggles and stutters on the PS5. I shudder to think what it would be like on a Switch.
The kindest thing I can say about the Lego games on the Switch is that they're functional.

Pre order just means extra stuff plus $10 gift cert from Best Buy. So it works out for me.

There seems to be as many good things as there are bad in ign review, but still an Amazing 9. Took him 32 hours. That’ll take me years. 😂
