Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

I watched twenty minutes of it last night and it's not the first hour. It takes you around and shows you the tattoo building and a word game that's in the game. No story spoilers at least in what I watched last night.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

I preordered this back in June, the PS4 version for $49.99 which has a "free upgrade to the digital PS5 version." Should I stick with that, or is there a good reason to switch to the PS5 version ($59.99), since I'll have one of those at launch? Thanks.

I would stick with the cheaper PS4 version since you get the PS5 version for free.

I want to get this but I still haven't finished Odyssey. Maybe I should.

Why does this have to launch a week before Cyberpunk

Because that is what happens this time of year... stop acting like you haven't played video games for the past 2 decades plus...

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

Yeah, I know. But two 100+ hour open world games coming out a week apart doesn't always happen. I couldn't care less about the yearly refreshes of games like CoD.

And a couple of weeks after Watch_Dogs: Legion and a couple of weeks before Immortals: Fenyx Rising. It’s an open world onslaught!

(And Miles Morales as well, but that’s obviously on a much smaller scale.)

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

Thankfully for me I'm not too interested in Watch Dogs. And I totally forgot about Immortals. All that and the new raid in FF14 will be dropping in early Dec. Next two months are gaming glutton.

Yep...we all have seen this before same time each and every year....a barrage of anticipated games leaving you to choose which now and which later on top of others you wanted months earlier but decided to wait for Black Friday Sales.....and it could be even much worse when you factor in several that had another delay till first quarter next year.....

I'm getting Valhalla and was getting Outriders but that's been pushed back till first part of February. If I get Cyberpunk it'll be for PC but Valhalla will have enough. Plus I finally got Red Dead II a few weeks ago and there's a lot to do in it not to mention just like ghost of Tsushima, last of Us II shows just how good the PS4 still is.

AC games drop in price ridiculously fast. I remember getting Odyssey for $30 black Friday which was only like two months after release lol.

I'm sure by the time you finish CP Valhalla will have a sale.

I got Valhalla for free with the purchase of my new motherboard. If anything, I'll be playing this first; CP 2nd.

I am waiting for the "Black Friday" sales to see what the deals are... I can wait an extra week or 2.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

Yeah, Valhalla and Cyberpunk for me.

Thankfully, they're different enough where I can switch back and froth from each game and not feel I'm playing a similar game, even though they're both "open world" games.

Then, next year, the new Horizon game should finish out my PS4 game playing.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

After reading this thread I thought I'd return to this series. Haven't played one since Black Flag. Snagged Origins and Odyssey for $15 each online and will wait to the new one drops and I actually get through these two

I don't know if I like the additions of no regenerating health bar and the stamina meter. I really enjoyed barging into a Restricted Area in Odyssey and going ham on everyone in there and having three mercenaries show up.

it's going to change a bit of in combat play and thinking...instead of being automatic while hiding you have to keep some "groceries" in your stash and hit up on the D-Pad. And I assume it will also depend on what Food Resources you have as to how much you regen. Sounds a lot like a page out of Red Dead 2 which I'm playing....from plants to game to fishing to tonics; all have certain benefits to Health, Stamina and Shooting. We may see certain foods even give a boost before you do rush in...who knows.

Sounds like it brings the chore to a game that I would prefer to be just fun. I guess we will see how it all works out

I agree it's adding more strategy to the combat and making it less fun.

I liked auto-heal... I don't need any more challenges in my day to day gaming

Witcher 3 has a sort of Auto-heal that's just horrible. You have to meditate after battle to get all your health back. Its really annoying and why I have nearly 500 healing items on me lol.

Has to be one of the best cinematic-for-TV Game Commercials I've seen.....
