I got the rifle with scope cause soon after you get to a section that utilizes it.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake

How important is playing through the previous games story-wise?
I want to play this game because everyone raves about it, but the OCD in means I want to play the previous games first. Problem is, other than RE7, every RE game I have tried has been too fucking hard to stick with it all the way through.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake

Finally started this up and finished chapter 1, or was it chapter 2? I found the guy in a body bag before getting attacked. Yeah, it's fun as hell and has the same game mechanics from Village, so there's minimal learning curve. Graphics-wise it also looks like Village.

Hardly matters at all. Some of the characters are from previous games, but it really doesn't matter. The RE stories are a convoluted mess, and it's best to just focus on the singular storyline within one game, rather than the macro-story over the series, which really makes no sense.

RE4 Remake as four difficulty settings. I'm sure there's a setting that's best for you.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake

Anyone get the bonus Striker shotgun and know why it doesn’t work with regular shotgun shells? Thanks.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake

So, it's a great game but damn, I feel like I'm playing through village. I now see where Village got its ideas from along witht he evil within.....right down to the actual characters. The trip mines bring back evil within vibes as well (yes I know, the crators of RE made EW).

I love the movements by the cult (just going to call them cult members for now as I have no idea what's going on yet) members....the way they look at you, attack, very cool.

I love this game and it gets better and better as it keeps going.

I think I've stepped in EVERY bear trap as well lol.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake

You definitely don’t have to play any of the other games to play this. I didn’t know shit except playing a bit of original RE and this is one of my favorite games of all time. This version just enhances this experience.

Ok, this beginning section of chapter 2 is infuriating. Do the villagers ever stop spawning?

I miss the incendiary grenade, it would have help with those dogs in the castle garden maze.

Can remakes win GotY? They should. Between this and Dead Space, thy bar hath been set.
