Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake

Well Best Buy shipped my order without a Steelbook, which apparently they ran out of. So I will return my copy in-store and wait for a sale on this one digitally. So disappointed.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake

Did they specifically say it was no longer available? I've bought from BB where they shipped the steelbook separately and later.

It was on the preorder page when I ordered, but I guess it was never added to the order? In any case, it didn't get shipped and isn't available now.

If you look up your order via order #, do you see it on there?

No. Just the game and the digital pre-order bonus.

Then you'll probably not get it. IIRC, the order should show the SB as its own line with no value. The last time I had a SB/game preorder, I think the SB ended up arriving over a week later.

I was wondering why I didn’t get a steel book. No pre order $10 cert either (maybe they stopped doing it?)

They stopped the pre-order certs many years ago. Now I mostly go digital because I can buy credit from Costco for 10% off ($100 credit for any system for $89.99), and at least in NV we don't get charged Sales Tax on digital purchases, making it about a 20% savings over physical media purchase. I will make an exception for a Steelbook, but not just to have a disc on the shelf.

Very happy this arrived early this morning. Got my steelbook and all. Will probably start it tomorrow as I have to work all night and morning.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake

Fantastic. Played for about an hour. It was familiar to a certain degree, but fresh in many others. Just a stunning reinvention of an incredible game. I still have no idea where these Ganados are going to come from. I’m hesitant around every corner. Nervous, trepidation, just plain scarier than on GCN. More atmospheric and in line with the others in series, especially 7,8 and 2 from what I’ve played. Controls are so much tighter. Similar to the remake of 2. Much better than the 360 port. And my god is it detailed and gorgeous. Just marvelous. Can’t wait to play more.

I got a pre-order cert from Hogwart’s Legacy so I know they still did it up until then. I don’t think CA charges tax on digital purchases either. I love digital but I want to sell my game when I’m done.

Yeah I just checked Best Buys website and they still do them. They have them available for multiple pre-orders.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake

Target is having a B1G1 half off on video games starting Sunday. There's a good chance this will be excluded, but it might be worth waiting a day if you haven't bought it yet.

Okay I guess they still do it for some. For this it was supposed to be a Steelbook, but it wasn't for me.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake

Anyone else have a chance to play this yet? Thoughts?

I’m having a blast. I don’t know if they added stuff, but some scenes I don’t remember at all. Which is great.

I’m still remarking on how the controls are so much different than port long ago. So fluid. I do like the only cheat I use which is the treasure map you get with preorder or digital edition. I love finding them, but don’t remember a lot of them being locked. And why would the key not even be in the area to find?

I’m taking my time and exploring everything and it’s just a joyful experience once again.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake

I played an hour this morning. When I was getting swarmed I kept thinking how the heck am I gonna kill everyone with low amount of bullets. Then I remember the original you just had to avoid them for a certain amount of time.

Also no dog at the beginning or did I miss it?

it was also much harder in the demo bc you didn’t have the lead up stuff. That gained me enough resources to make it through most of the villagers. I didn’t remember just avoiding. I slayed so many with my 9mm something or other that came with digital edition.

Spoiler:
in the beginning you cone across a dog caught in a bear trap. If you rescue it , later on it'll come back and assist you for a boss fight

Maybe it'll show up later?

The dog is definitely there. He helps fight the cave troll looking thing.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake

I'm at Chapter 2 and meet the merchant should I have my weapons tune-up or wait for better weapon? I hoping the Red9 handgun and the Striker shotty be on this remake.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 4: Remake

^ now I got the Striker shotgun with digital deluxe. What kind of ammo does it take? Because I have another shotgun and shotgun shells, but can’t equip to the Striker. Anyone know what that’s about?
