Hmm... maybe it does stop the transfer of data. I know it allows you to download update data but maybe that's a little different.

Also there are lots of caveats about standby mode (unless they've fixed them) but I would've just thought that the default would be to put your system on standby if HDMI controlled and not shut down completely.

Well I checked and it didn't mess anything up it just stopped the transfer at three of the five games I attempted to move. So crisis averted.
So the lesson is don't move a lot of content at once unless you plan on just leaving your TV on and unused for a while. I still think it's faster to move content than to download it, but it still takes a while.

You can probably change the HDMI settings on your PS5 to allow it to stay on when your tv turns off.

Yeah, this is set at Settings > System > HDMI > Enable HDMI Device Link. Just make sure the toggle is off (set to the left), and this annoyance will be a thing of the past. For now, anyway; I already had it disabled, but this system update reverted it back to being on.

For those that may not know, the new update finally gives the ability to turn off forced HDR on non-HDR games. Just go to settings and change HDR from "Always On" to "On when supported". Big thumbs up for this update, as it was a pain having to manually switch off HDR every time when playing an SDR game.
