No new announcements that really excited me, but geez, Spidey 2 sure does look incredible. I’ll also be grabbing Beat Saber right now.

Pretty much same for me.

Now if I had a PSVR2, there were a few games that looked good.

Besides Spider-Man 2, I’m looking forward to AC Mirage, Phantom Blade 0 and Ultros.

I was never very good at Metal Gear Solid but willing to give it another chance.

The thought process for Teardown looks like what’s the most we can rip off Minecraft and not get sued.

Not really to me. It looks more like Lego. Mine craft is big blocks in the wilderness in a survival setting.
This is an urban crime and destruction game

There’s also room for more of their “big” titles too…

Well, if anyone wants to play it, it's been on Steam for a year.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Please talk me out of buying the 4TB SSD for PS5. It’s $329 at Amazon and it’s so tempting at 43% off, but I think I’m ok now. I have 1 TB SSD and console storage of 1 TB plus a substantial extended 4 TB HDD. The SSD storage has 1 TB left between them and I’m thinking that’s too low.

So, please, tell me I don’t need it now or in the future. Thanks.

You don’t need it. Uninstall games you don’t play.

Unless one has a serious stack of games on hand and keep...no.....the beauty of able to swap, move games between three different storage options with the PS5 is a dream......I have a 4-5TB USB WDD Drive and added a simple 1TB SSD. The handful of Games I play mainly go on the Crucial SSD....so-so Games go on the Internal Drive which has the OS on which I never exced more than 70% on.....and rest goes on the external USB Drive. Now, keep in mind you litterally can store Games on that SSD (current) that say you might not play now or might come back way down the road....and change it out with a new one. Or if needing more storage just get a large USB Thumb Drive or something....But for that much $$$$ I wouldn't...

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Was there an update which allows you to run PS5 games off a USB HDD? Or are you saying you just store them there for future play?

Sure enough, I caved. Bought Beat Saber + Imagine Dragons bundle (I know, but it's only $10 more than the game alone and includes songs my family knows), Queen pack, The Weeknd pack, Classic Rock pack. At least I didn't buy the DLC I own on the Quest (Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish).
Gotta say it's a way better experience with PSVR2. Looks much sharper. More importantly, sounds MUCH better. And the haptic controllers fundamentally change the whole experience. Worth it. Now to decide on the Lizzo pack....

its just for storage, to save bandwidth from having to re-download.

Totally forgot the biggest improvement over playing on the Quest : On the PSVR2 (and I assume the old PSVR as well), people can watch you play, and hear the music, making it a fun party experience. On the Quest it just looks like a person flailing around in his living room to the beat of very quiet Lady Gaga music.

You can stream to a phone or TV with the Quest 2. Not to take away from the PSVR2 which I'm sure is easier to engage.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

You guys know I’m a gadget and accessory nut. I just bought the Backbone One Playstation Edition for Android,( which just came out last week) and tried it last night. It’s a controller that fits on your phone and enables Remote Play. It’s PS branded with their buttons and designed to look like a Dual Sense, but it also works with Google Play, Xbox, Game Pass Streaming, etc. It’s pretty nice and solid with good clicky buttons.

I tried it out last night (after taking the case off my Galaxy S23 Ultra, which was NOT easy). It works okay. I was able to play in my bedroom off the PS5 in the TV room downstairs. There was some lag. I could play Lego 2K Drive, but it wasn’t ideal. I tried to play Pinball FX and it was comical how badly it ran. For games with less need for a high frame rate like Midnight Suns, it did work okay, but the text was really hard to read (I ordered a pair of stronger magnifying glasses to use with the screen in the future). But for $99 it’s not bad. I got it from Best Buy and have that extended warranty thing — it’s pretty likely I will return it within the 2 years for a refund or maybe to get the Sony streaming product instead, but for now it’s pretty cool. I can’t imagine it works well at all outside of the house with the PS5. Haven’t tried it with the Game Pass Cloud service but suspect that will work better.
