Play up the fact that you're a front line doctor dealing with COVID cases and you are sick of having to waste your little free time on having to argue with Sony about a PS5 console that will not play PS5 games.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

They don’t care. They are hard-line blocking any attempt to address error code ce-108255-1. Like we intentionally broke the console or something. They have a script and are not allowed to deviate from it. The very nice CS rep I spoke with yesterday told me as much. And the Supervisor was way worse and ruder. She told me that I had “refused” to try the fix that the CS rep had suggested (I was at work and when she suggested I change Miles Morales from Resolution to Performance mode I told her I couldn’t because I wasn’t at the location of my PS5). It’s really insane their degree of denial in this.
Now my Disney Plus won’t launch. I get a different error code. Normally I would just delete and re-download the app, but there isn’t an option to do either one of those things on the PS5 so I had to watch The Mandalorian on my Xbox One instead.

Maybe the Disney + error code will let them exchange the console!

Sony response: "COVID can wait, there are patches vaccines coming out for it to resolve the issues."

I know you say you don't want to fight the charge, but have you verbalized that is the next step to them Decker? Right now everyone wants their system and they are blind to the fact that anyone would want to return one. Tell them if they won't let you return it, you'll reverse the charge on their P.O.S. machine. It might light a fire under someone's ass.

Pretty sure he just said it would be expensive to ship back not that he actually asked. To me, being out $30 seems preferable to being out $500+.

Yeah, UPS would ship it for around $15 (print the label at home and use code Pivot for 25% off).

But they won't take it back... that is what I mean.

It takes seven hours plus to charge it that way. Gamefly has sold out. Thanks anyway Adam.

Are you plugging it into a hamster wheel for power? I'm using an old iphone 5w plug and it takes no more time than any other game controller.

Nah, I think I have a faulty controller. I can play for an hour or two on full charge, after that, it's dead. I can't find any new ones. I will just have to deal with it until the rush is over.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I was finally able to place an order for a PS5 right now. It has been a tough ordeal trying to score one here in Canada. It meant following the Best Buy Canada Twitter account and another account: Lbabinz Canada and with that combined effort, I was home, at the right moment in front of my desktop, to make it happen.

Now is just waiting for it to arrive as they said it may come as soon as tomorrow. Here’s hoping...

Awesome news on getting one. I really wish retailers would work a bit to shut out scalpers, but why would they care?

I think they are trying. Best Buy was so jacked yesterday because they were forcing curbside pickup. So you had to select a store, hurry through checkout to be knocked back to the beginning because it was out of stock at that location. Then you had to select a new store and go through it again to be told it was out of stock.

I saw an article this morning that Walmart tried to use some kind of bot protection and even manually cancelled orders they believe came from bots.
How Walmart Ensures Real People, Not 'Grinch Bots,' Buy PlayStation 5, Xbox (yahoo.com)
It's all still a shit show but I appreciate some effort being put into stopping scalpers.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

After trying many, many times, two of my friends got in on a PS5 yesterday. Best Buy was as bust. Both managed to get in through a back door cart link at Walmart. Not sure how that works, but they're legit buyers so

Weird, that article mentions WM blocked 20 million bots on Nov. 25th, boasting about real people getting consoles, but that seems unlikely to me.

Find out what state Sony’s US HQ is in and file a Better Business Bureau complaint. Guarantee you’ll be contacted in days by a corporate rep to work with you and help resolve. Most companies have dedicated areas that handle those complaints and they aren’t the regular CS reps.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

And Complaint has been filed :

Complaint Summary
Complaint Type: Consumer to Business Complaint
Nature of complaint: Product Issues
Problem description:
I bought a PlayStation 5 at launch. Since the day the system came out it has crashed when playing any of a number of PS5 games. The game will freeze then close and give the same error message CE-108255-1. Sony has a website where they suggest a number of different fixes, some which require wiping the hard drive. I have done all these. I have called Sony's help line at (800) 345-7669 numerous times. I am always told to wait for a patch to fix it. They refuse to repair or replace the system. I have waited over a month and still have the same issues. Three different games, Miles Morales, Watch Dogs Legions and Immortals Fenyx Rising all have the same crashing problem and are pretty much unplayable on the system. I called and asked that my case be escalated to a manager. When I spoke to her on 12/15/20 she told me "Rome, for example. wasn't built in a day" and that I just need to be patient. I have purchased a $500 consumer electronic product - DIRECTLY FROM SONY, and it won't play the games it was designed for. I can't take it back to the store and ask for a refund because I bought it directly from Sony. I am just stuck waiting for a fix that after over a month doesn't seem to be coming.
Desired Resolution: Exchange
Desired Outcome
I would like Sony to exchange my clearly malfunctioning Standard Edition PlayStation 5 with an identical unit that works without crashing.

Awesome! I hope they come through for you and ship you a working system instead of selling more to shithead scalpers while you wait.
