When does the discount for existing members kick in? I’m seeing subscriptions as the same price as before…

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Allegedly there are some PSVR2 games being included in next months PS Plus drop. Saints & Sinners being one of them... this would be a huge win for those of us who bought the gear (and haven't touched it since week 1).

TL,DR - Sony in-house marketing did an interview with Neil Druckmann and made it look like he said a bunch of stuff he never said about AI and other such things. Druckmann clarified on Twitter, providing a transcript of part of the interview. Sony pulled the entire interview due to several significant errors and inaccuracies.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

PSVR2 PC adapter is coming. This will allow people to use their PSVR2 with a larger library of VR games on PC, similar to what you can do with Meta Quest 3, assuming there are minimal compatibility issues as well.

Hmmmmm…

I would think even the average PC player who was fine waiting two years to play Horizon: Forbidden West on his high end PC isn’t just going to go buy a PS5 or PS5 Pro just to play Horizon 3: Tallneck Boogaloo at worse settings.

Does that mean they'll never be released on PC or just a couple years later? One step forward 2 steps back.

Just later. Their games are doing quite well on PC. They’re not going to give that up entirely.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I see via the Playstation store that I can upgrade my PS Plus essential for $xx.xx for 328 days (the days remaining on my 12 months). If I were to add another year (essential) would it extend the offer to 693 days?

Decker mentioned the PSVR2 items coming for Premium in June, so they are not part of the Extra tier in the game catalog? I thought the Premium tier was older gen games in the catalog PSP, Vita, PS1, PS2, PS3.

Thinking about getting the PSVR2 from direct for the 1 year Netflix offer, but I don't know if I want to jump to the Premium tier to play those titles (seeing as I own Walkabout, and both Walking Deads on Quest 2). I was thinking about doing the Extra tier though.

I accidentally hit the trigger buttons and skipped a chapter forward or backwards a few times and had to rewind or fast forward to get back.
I picked one up at Walmart on clearance for $11.00, but I realize WM clearance can be hit or miss.

Yes, per the article, it's only coming for the top tier. No PSVR exclusive games have been offered at any tier before (Huminity was offered for Extra, that game as PSVR but is playable without it).

Back when there was only one tier, there were some PSVR(1) exclusives on PS+, like The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, Until You Fall, The Persistence, and Racket Fury. It's good to see some movement with PSVR2, although it'd be nice if something were in the Essential tier.

I meant PSVR2. Don't know why I forgot to type a 2.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Adding PSVR2 games only to the Premium tier is interesting. They must have a nice Venn diagram showing how the remaining active PSVR2 players overlap with both Premium and Extra subscribers, and decided there weren’t enough Premium subscribers paying for the privilege, so this may be a way to convince Extra folks to upgrade during the current sale.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Sony leaks the final expansion of Destiny 2 on its own streaming service, allowing gamers to play it at least five days early.

While we’ve seen plenty of game leaks in recent years — including early footage of GTA 6 and internal documents and gameplay stolen from Insomniac Games— it’s still rare to be able to play a game early thanks to mistaken server access.
Bungie folks are probably not too happy, unless this was somehow an intentional viral marketing thing, but I doubt it.

I really don't see much value for the Premium tier for non-retro gamers. Short game trials? Streaming games? Neither really moves the needle. This move helps justify the price.

The PS3 and PS4 were my go-to disc/streaming devices till I got a smart TV with more 4K availability across services. But yeah, media remote is much better than a game controller.

I still hate that dumb blue glow on the controller (when forced to use that to control playback). Did they ever give an option to turn that off?

I stopped using that when the Harmony Hub got compatibility but Harmony is no more and that thing isn't going to last forever...

Yeah, pretty sure you can. I know there's a dimness slider now and am assuming you can turn it all the way off.

how do gamers even discover the glitch that opens the full game? i mean it's a preorder and why would they even or how do they know?

Did you read the article? It wasn't a glitch that players did. It was a glitch by Sony, releasing it on their cloud service.
