Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I let mine expire back in March. The lackluster game offerings are to blame. I'd go months and months without one I'd even remotely want to download.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Helldivers 2 is PlayStation’s fastest selling game, outpacing God Of War Ragnarok. There is no doubt this has to do with being released day and date on PC.

I suspect we’ll see more of that happening now as more first party titles start to come out.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I think I've done all I want to do in Animal Well at this point. PSN has me at 13 hours. The idea of finding another 20+ eggs is too daunting. I would have to either look them all up or go back through the full map to see what I can unlock with new tools (the top, specifically) I have.

Fun fact I read. The 4k wallpaper for PS5 the game uses is a larger file than the full game itself. Pretty amazing achievement for the devs.

I was on essential, but didn't resub after the price increase. I probably will if they ever offer a discount again but they haven't since my sub ran out earlier this year, and the other promos before that were only for new customers.

They stopped selling PS Plus cards at retailers a few years ago. Don't know why. They also don't sell digital codes for PS5 games at retailers either.

It makes sense if you look at it from the perspectives of control and flexibility. A general card can be used for anything in the PS ecosystem. Can’t do the same for a specific game code or PS+, and it gets messier when you dig into the multiple tiers of PS+. Plus specific titles and subscriptions are more likely to be discounted over time, and gift cards tend to hold really steady.

It’s not great from a consumer perspective, but from a more mercenary capitalistic perspective, yeah, I get it.

It also has a set value once purchased, while they can sell PSN cards and still change PS Plus pricing however they like

Someone from PixelOpus, the Sony studio that was shut down last year, still has their Twitter login info, apparently.

I scooped up Plus Extra for a month to try out a few titles, especially Animal Well. Didn't expect much but damn if it isn't the closest thing I've played to a modern day successor to Manic Miner/Jet Set Willy.

Exactly. They stopped selling the PS Plus cards once they raised the price and introduced tiers. They didn't want people locking in years worth at the old prices indefinitely, and they didn't want complaints if they tried to pro-rate the cards at the new prices.

I went back to Animal Well and got all the eggs. Needed a guide for the last 8 or 9. Then I looked up how deep the secrets go in the game. Bravo to the dev for putting in all that work. Reading about it made me think of Ready Player One and the secrets in the game world they had to figure out.

Pretty amazing. Easily one of my favorite games originally released on the tail end of the last generation. Glad to see it still has movement in the PC market, too.

cool!

I'm curious how long I can go before I'll need a guide, just got the travel flute.

I've posted on a few topics over on Facebook promoting this for PC....I almost envy them for seeing this the first time and experiencing it at the beginning. I know once you best it you are given the option of basically re-playing which I did not do simply because I played it too much and need a break. I will say though, I wished I stuck with playing Legends more and saw more playing it. That filled in nicely, both the Two Person and Four Person....

Fun! But I still want some love for PSVR2 as well. Poor, neglected system.
Anyways, Astrobots are so fun and cute.

If I want to get an 8TB hard drive, how do I get the games from my 4TB to 8?

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Now, I plugged my pc’s hard drive into the front of PS5 usb port and said it could not be formatted. Is that bc of the hard drive or the USB port in front? Thanks for any help.

you have to move everything from the SSD to an external HDD of at least 4TB, then back to the new SSD. Will take many hours.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

No, I’m asking about external hard drives. Can I plug two in at same time and transfer the stuff on the 4TB hard drive to the 8? I already have 4TB SSD and the console SSD.
