I popped in Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection - Remastered. I then tested Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience (PS4), Death Stranding: Director's Cut, Spider-Man 2 (that opening sequence was insane), God of War (PS4), God of War: Ragnarök, and am about to check out The Last of Us: Part I.

By the way, I noticed that the game case of ​​​​God of War: Ragnarök is broken. Specifically the "button" that holds the disc in place. I tried looking up some replacement cases online but dunno which options to trust. Any recommendations?

I picked up two games from the Holiday sale today. I don't usually buy digital games, but these were so cheap I decided to get them:
Two Point Hospital: JUMBO Edition $7.99
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair $2.99

I bought Two Point Campus when it was on sale at WOOT for $5. I thought I should play the hospital game first and $2.99 for Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair was too cheap to pass even though I hear it's really hard.

I already own Nobody Saves the World (and it's a good game!), have played some Plague Tale Requeim as it was a launch game with Game Pass.
I'm happy to see Evil West here, as that was a game I was holding out for one of these services as a freebie.

My kid got one of the Uncharted games for PS5 from a relative for Christmas and it looks like it's a bilingual release (maybe Canadian?). Before he takes off the shrinkwrap will he have an issue playing it on our USA model PS5? I thought I read the system was region free.

IIRC the main challenges he might have is if the region doesn't include English as a language (which you can probably tell from the packaging) and if he wants to buy DLC for it (I think DLC is region locked so you'd have to buy the DLC in the storefront of the region)

PS5 games are region free. You should have no issue playing it as-is in English, and you should be able to buy DLC from your own region.

I have played a plethora of Canadian discs on my “American” PS4 and PS5.

the issue with DLC, as I understand, is if you own a digital copy of the game from a different region. But the physical copy shouldn’t be a hindrance.

They're the same region. Mexico also. Back when I was collecting Wii games there were a few titles that were exclusively sold in Mexico but all same region and work the same.

They're 'the same region' for the most part, except (obviously) the currency used for buying digital games and DLC.
In Current Year, you still can't switch your PSN account between the two countries if you move across the border and want to keep your digital purchases on a single account for the single human being that you are. Other digital storefronts have no such issue; you can change your country when you move while keeping your content in one place (with very specific restrictions, naturally, regarding in-game digital currency, mostly for GaaS type games).
This only affects a fraction of people, but it should affect nobody, because changing your account's country should be trivial if you have physically moved within the same region.

As for the DLC itself, it's more of a region-to-region issue. There are rare cases where the overseas DLC may not be compatible with a "North American" digital copy. I found examples of this on reddit.

But back to the point; none of this should matter at all when popping a PS4 or PS5 disc from any country into your PS5. It will play fine, and you should be able to buy/download DLC fine, too.

I got home and the kid had already played some of it, it worked just fine.

Looking at the packaging more, it seems to be Greek writing on it, not sure how it ended up in the states (probably overstock, I guess).

I got my PS5 all hooked up and updated. Played a couple of games, while I owned the PS3 and PS4s I never played any games on them. The last video game I remember playing was Tomb Raider 3 for the PS2, I think. The Robocop game is a lot of fun and I shot a bunch of cops in Grand Theft Auto 5. I also like the apps for streaming a lot better than the Roku. Spotify is actually usable on the PS5 app and the media remote works really well.

Any thoughts on the KingSpec XG 7000 4TB M.2? It's currently $172.99 on NewEgg, but I can't find any reviews.

Is Portable SSD a good drive to play PS4 games on a PS5 (freeing up the M.2 drives for just PS5 games? Or am I better off opting for the smaller (and more expensive) ?

Ended up getting a Seagate FireCuda 530 4TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD with Heatsink for my PS5.

Installed the FireCuda 530 4TB yesterday. Quickly moved all my locally installed games to it (with the exception of The Last of Us: Part I, that refused to budge so I had to delete and reinstall), then I added fresh installs of other games that arrived in the mail. Ate up just over 800GB on the next drive. It's nice and speedy in case anyone is considering a similar drive.
