Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Should be getting the sterling silver controller tomorrow. I think it’ll be nice to have an unfettered (the grips) one. But, if it’s too slippery, I dunno…

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
It’s pretty nice…

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Yeah that's cool looking. Supposedly there's a new design with much longer battery life. I wonder if that is it, or if it's coming later this year.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Well, I played for a couple hours with new controller. I was playing a PS4 game, Wolfenstein:TNO, so not sure if there’s supposed to be haptic feedback in older games and can’t attest to new/better feedback.
It plays nice, looks great, but how the hell do you guys hold on to your controllers? I mean I have dry hands, always, because I’m anally clean with washing hands and it’s so slippery. When I start to play and as my body heats up it was easier to hold it with hands, but going in cold, I can’t hold that sucker for the life of me. Seriously, those that don’t use grips, and I gather that’s majority, how do you hold on to the controller easy? |
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Put grips on mine for that very reason and never looked back.
|
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Never had any issue holding the controller. Dunno what to tell you.

it seems to be frowned upon here.
Personally I have never had any issues with any first party PS controller since PS2. They have grippy textured backings. |
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I dont remember have issues with previous generation PS controllers either, but these are slippery to me. And personally I think they look even better with the right kind of grips on them anyway.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
This is what I’m dealing with right now. The grips really do work, but i totally get where Decker is coming from. That’s kinda why i spent some gift card on an unspoiled controller…

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I sometimes play for 4-5 hours at a time and never had any controller slipiness. Are you playing in a sauna?
|
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I've never had any issue with grip. But I also don't care what a controller "looks like". You do you.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Free games for February :
Dang it, I bought Rollerdrome and don't even really know why. It's kind of cool though. |
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Well, I've been interested in Rollerdrome. I'll have to try it out.
|
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I paid full price for that damn Steel Rising game at release and only played it for maybe an hour. Didn't care for it despite how cool it looked.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Only game I'm excited from state of play is Dave The Diver

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Nice promotion for those who aren't currently PS Plus members:
PlayStation Plus PromotionFrom January 31 – February 11, players who join PlayStation Plus can get PS Plus Extra for the price of PS Plus Essential on a 12-month membership plan**. |
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
Looking at the State of Play trailers, I am definitely getting Until Dawn and wish Death Stranding 2: On The Beach was due this year.
Now looking at the Stellar Blade trailer and, although the graphics are nice, it seems like a generic game. I think the controversy the main character's model sparked are the only reason anyone would be curious. And for all the talk about how Western devs tend to ugly up the likenesses of the models they use as the basis for their female characters, I feel the devs of this game fell way short of replicating the gorgeous likeness of Shin Jae-eun. Not that they made her ugly, but she's hardly 1:1, despite all the hyperbolic comments online. |
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
New PS5 Software update Beta :
Here are the main updates to check out: 1. We've updated the device software of the DualSense and DualSense Edge wireless controllers to improve their sound features. • The controller speakers can now produce higher volume sound, allowing you to hear in-game sounds and voice chat audio more clearly. • The mic input quality on these controllers has been improved, courtesy of a new AI machine learning model. Background noise from button presses and game audio are suppressed, resulting in a better voice chat experience. Install the system software beta and update the controller device software to enjoy enhanced clarity of your voice chat audio when using the controller mic. 2. You can now adjust the brightness of your PS5's power indicator. • Go to [Settings] > [System] > [Beep and Light], and then select [Brightness]. 3. We've added new features in Parties and Share Screen. • Players watching Share Screen can use pointers and emoji reactions to interact with the host's gameplay. o Viewers can use a pointer or indicate a specific location on the gameplay screen with ping. o Viewers can also send emoji reactions. o This feature is available when the host turns on [Viewer Interactions] in the Share Screen settings. 4. Unicode 15.1 emoji is supported. You can now use them in messages. 5. We've updated the device software of the DualSense and DualSense Edge wireless controllers, PlayStation VR2 headset, and Access controller to improve stability. 6. We've improved the messages and usability on some screens. I have three codes for anyone interested. Just post here and I'll send out the Beta code. |
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I’ll take one if still available.
|
Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20
I don't think the controller speaker needs to be louder (at least not for in-game audio), but I like that there will be the ability to adjust the brightness of PS5's power indicator.
