Re: Arcade 1UP

I ordered it to replace my Gen 1 Galaga machine. At $449 + $90 in Kohl’s cash plus $22 in Kohl’s Rewards it was a no brained. I just listed my old machine on Facebook to help offset the price.

Re: Arcade 1UP

Arcade1Up has a small holiday sale that includes the sit down Outrun for $449 and their Frogger cabinet for $349. Considering how quickly Arcade1Up has been putting out 12-in-1 legacy units (Atari, Midway, Capcom, and Namco), it feels highly likely that Frogger could make it into a potential Konami Legacy cabinet with titles like Gyruss, Scramble, Super Cobra, Pooyan and the Contra games, so I'll hold off on the current Frogger cab.

Re: Arcade 1UP

With the addition of Tron this past weekend, I think I'm done for now, especially with the space I allocated for these cabinets. Any future cabinet will require a move to the basement which will entail painting the walls dark blue, adding in recessed black lighting, and some crazy neon patterned rug.

Is Tron that much higher, or is the riser also taller? It's a great looking machine.

My understanding is that the answer is "both". The cabinet is taller, and it also has the larger riser used for the standup versions of Outrun and Star Wars.

Yeah, the side panel is two pieces which uses metal plates to attach to each other (more screws!) rather than the single side panel that the others use. The Tron cabinet definitely took a lot longer for me to assemble overall. I played a couple games, and it's really nice with the authentic controls. I resisted getting Marvel Vs Capcom or the Golden Axe cabinets which were on my radar. Best Buy has Golden Axe on sale for $449, but still too much for the games that are included. I play mostly single player, so all of these 4 player cabinets released recently don't interest me at their current prices (TMNT, Simpsons, X-Men, etc). Tempted to get one of those digital pinball games however.

Mine definitely does. I believe the new 40th anniversary version that just came out at Walmart also has it.

That set-up is awesome and makes me jealous. All you need is one of those mini-basketball hoop machines and I could re-live the arcades of my youth.

How do you get to that settings screen? I have one of the wall-hanging units with multiple games on it - Pac Man, Dig Dug, and others - and wonder if it has it.

My main menu has a gear icon next to each game that takes you into the settings.

Re: Arcade 1UP

Best Buy, Kohl's, GameStop, and Walmart dropped the price of some of the Arcade1up cabinets and stools. The best deal is probably Walmart pricing the Tempest cabinet at only $283. It's my favorite cabinet with the analog trackball and spinner controllers. Get the matching stool at Best Buy on sale.

Have any of you guys bought one of these countercade machines?

Right now Amazon is selling a few of them for $149. I would be interested in something like this NBA Jam or Mortal Kombat II machine. Just wondering how much space they take up and how heavy they are. And do you think this is worth the money?

I've seen the smaller single-player units in person but haven't come across the two-player games. The single-player units aren't big at all - they'd fit on most desks and/or kitchen tables without much of a problem. Maybe slightly taller and a bit thinner than most medium size microwaves.

Re: Arcade 1UP

I picked up one of their Infinity game tables for a Christmas gift to myself. I got the 24" version to keep the cost down, but the table itself is the same size and construction, just the screen inside the table is smaller, so I figured it was worth saving $200. Most of the included games are of the Hasbro tablet app variety (Monopoly, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Game of Life, Sorry, Trouble, Yahtzee, Connect 4, Battleship, Guess Who, Candyland, Chutes & Ladders, Operation, Simon, etc) with some generic apps added in (Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Othello, Mancala, various Solitaire games, Mahjong, etc). They have some premium titles like Pandemic and Ticket to Ride for $9.99 each, and other apps for sale like Blackjack Masters and Big Draw Poker at $4.99 each.

Overall, I wasn't really impressed. The table came with some cheap folded paper stands to hide your letters when playing Scrabble, perhaps used in other games, not sure. There is a slight lag in touching the screen which doesn't affect most games, but for playing Simon, it feels weird to have that half second lag (on a real Simon, it's easier to click through a 15 length pattern in a few seconds), and for the coloring book, the delay makes that app useless.

But my girlfriend loves the table, and we played Yahtzee, Connect 4, and Sorry together the first night. I'm sure she'll enjoy most of the other Hasbro games, so I brought the table over to her house to play when we are there since we spend more time at her place. The 24" model is $699, and the 32" model is $899. I used a Target 10% off coupon plus the 5% Target card discount to get it around $600 which is still too much. I bought this instead of one of their pinball tables which I kind of regret now, but I did buy this to be more family friendly, so I guess it did serve that purpose. I'll still get one of their pinball machines, but holding out for a sale before I pull the trigger.

Arcade1up has just announced a Pro series line of cabinets with 19" monitors and Happ controllers. The first cabinet in the line will be Killer Instinct priced at a cool grand.

After my Burgertime issues, I’ve been hesitant to get another Arcade1up. Well hesitant to get one that has multigenerational games. At least it’s stopped me from building a multicade.

I love mine. They released their legacy collection of cabinets last year with 12 games included from Atari, Midway, Capcom and Namco, and I thought it was a great intro for me to collect them all.

For 2022, they decided to re-release the same legacy cabinets with 2 extra games which is annoying to say the least. I was hoping for new legacy cabinets for Konami or Sega, instead I have to decide whether to sell my Midway cabinet so I can get the new one with Klax included, or dump my Atari to get Breakout and Lunar Lander on the new one. It's like they hate their fanbase.

Re: Arcade 1UP

My favorite cabinet, Atari Legacy, is available at Nordstrom for $269. Not sure when the 2022 edition with Lunar Lander and Breakout is coming out, but this is a great price for those on a budget.

My girlfriend plays the Atari cabinet more than I do. But the main problem is that you can't just have one (or two...)

Someone in a Arcade1Up deal group on Facebook was able to get Best Buy to price match Nordstrom via online chat if you wanted to start accumulating some My Rewards points for 2022.

I just don't really understand why someone would buy a $1K A1UP when you can get a bigger, and higher quality machine in the ALP for less, and it will play anything you throw it from the arcade era.
