I hope my Amazon order still comes in. This + Doom 64 is an awesome combo.

That’s weird. I usually can preload full game before on XO. This only dl’d like 40Gb for this Battlezone, which I guess is MP. Can’t even pre 64...

You can however unlock the game way early on Xbox by changing your region to NZ (this won't work on PS4)

Just got the "Your order will probably be delayed" e-mail from Amazon. So much for saving $10.

As well as Animal Crossing and the Bell Bag. In two more separate shipments. Great use of resources, Best Buy.
My wife is going to see that stack of boxes on my front porch, freak out, and give me such a lecture tomorrow.

was a kiwi for about two hours and my only two complaints were:
1) had to lower my horizontal sensitivity to 30 (from 40; that felt tuned to a 15 year old after 3 red bulls)
2) change the weapon switch button to Y from LB
other than that, it's exactly the Doom that I've been waiting for. Ready to switch back to being on US time and completely pumped to get rolling in earnest tomorrow.

Christ, why do I have to log in to Bethesda's janky shit to play the campaign.

I wound up with an extra Xbox code for Doom 64 and the other preorder goodies, if anyone needs it or wants it: 3Q4T7-D7HP3-M9WVY-MC9V4-H7MCZ

Seems they messed up once again and included the DRM-free exe along with the download... so of course pirates have it immediately without needing to crack Denuvo.
This is like what... the 4th or 5th game this exact ordeal has happened with? Almost seems intentional now.

My two copies (Vanilla and Deluxe Editions) have already shipped from Best Buy. As well as both free Steelbooks. In four separate shipments.

Re: Doom Eternal (3/20/20: PC, PS4, XB1, Switch, Stadia)
Anyone get into this at all yet? I have to admit, since I’m obviously not teaching I’m doing my part timer in pharmacy. Got home and was wiped. And I think, just think, I took my first unaided nap in over 20 years. It was only an hour and I can’t absolutely verify, but I’m pretty sure. So thus didn’t get to. As I said, saw opening, but didn’t play today. How is 64? Was that regarded. I’ve rarely had an older game hold up to today’s...

I’m a few hours deep, and I still don’t know how I feel about the game. There is just so much going on at any one time, and I’m always always always on the verge of running out of ammo, health, armor, or more often than not, all three. There are moments where everything clicks and I feel like I’m just slapping ass and doing great, but most of the time it’s pray and spray and hope that I hit what I need to. Maybe that’s just Doom being Doom though, but I don’t remember Doom 2016 feeling this sloppy.
And I don’t care for the new traversal stuff at all.

I'm liking it but agree it kind of hits the wrong balance of challenge vs tediousness this time. But I'm still pretty early on.

Yeah, I try, but honestly between that, the grenade launcher, the fire belcher, each weapon and it's different modes, and whatever environmental shit is in my way, there's just a lot to juggle.

I'm really early on, but I agree the health and ammo are way more of an issue than they were in the 2016 game (which I only just played through a couple weeks ago). It's a lot less run and gun, and more of a run and scrounge every last bit of anything you can find. Still fun though. And the glory kills are just as entertaining if not more. I legit burst out laughing during one of the animations.

G-damn this game is fun. Felt so good being back in it. Played a bit so far. Seeing that gigantic Hell Titan was awesome! Can’t wait to continue this journey. I’m giddy!
