Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I wrapped up the main story last night. Just a wonderful game. It did so many little things right. I am continuing on to clear up all the regions but I have no intention of 100%'ing this game. I got all the technique points (plus an extra somehow) and I can easily see Jin being a ninja in the next game -- considering his end game situation. I cannot say enough about how enjoyable this game was... it's everything Assassin's Creed should aspire to be after the bloated messes they've been churning out.

this game looks and plays better than any game i've played in a long time. since Decker slammed the Rise of Ronin thread, i decided to try this and i am, now, totally addicted.

Yeah, it's one of the best games I've played in recent years. It might be my favorite of the past 2 generations, actually.
And as you can see above, I told you to play it in 2022.

Also, this was the first game to show me a different color on the DualSense, pink. It was so cool.

i'm regretting starting this now since I wanted to wait for Rise of Ronin and really get into that, but this game is too much fun to put away. such decisions. Between this, Rise of Ronin and Shogun the current, incredible mini-series on FX, Feudal Japan is certainly having a resurgence in my home.

As noted above, to unlock fast travel all you need to do is simply discover a location on the map. Once a location has been discovered, be it a hub area like a town, or something like a Fox Den or Shinto Shrine, you’ll be able to fast travel.

i know how to fast travel. what i'm saying is that when a fast travel point is activated I can't get back there because it says "fast travel unavailable". i have a fast travel point but it won't let me go there during some quests where i have to go a million miles.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

i guess i'm not being clear. i open up the fast travels at various locations on the map, by doing whatever quest or kill whoever, thus that location is clean and fast travel is available. when i go into a new quest, the map menu says fast travel not active or available or something to that affect. the fast travels are active and opened, but during certain situations i cannot fast travel to an already opened up location.

I mean that's how fast travel works in every game I've ever played. There are certain points of the game where they want you to do a specific thing (for story or quest related reasons) and fast travel is unavailable during that period. Keep on playing and when you make it farther it will be available again.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

i figured out why i couldn't fast travel to locations....i was on my horse when i tried. that's a no no.

edit…still doesn’t work for some quests horse or not.

being in a correct stance really is key to beating certain guys faster. I just got moon stance and it sure does take the brutes down quick. I just have to remember all the different ones and keep having to check techniques log for which is better for which enemy. That’s not always easy to do on the fly and then changing to that stance is tough for me with Mongols swarming me.

is this considered “soul” like? I do do a lot of parrying, blocking, etc.

No, he doesn't Google, he asks questions here where it takes more work than the Google search bar and then waits for someone else to answer.

It's on my wishlist. Not a day 1 one game but interested.

and I’m sure you’ll tell us about every excruciating detail frame by bloody frame. Minute by bloody minute, every minute you play.

You mean talk about me playing a game on a game forum in a thread about said game? On a forum that doesn't get a lot of activity and when I post a lot it's all raves and positivity about a game? The horror.

I should instead keep asking on said thread what to do in said game next.

Different armor have different abilities. Defensive, Stealth, Archery. You know that, right?

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

yes, i realized that, but the other armors seem useless since i've upgraded a good one to it's max. i have the Sakai Clan Armor. and it seems to have the best stats out of the ones i have thus far, which is maybe 5 or 6 different suits.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

You'll need to upgrade the archery one for some archery challenges. And the Traveler one is useful when exploring the map. You just have to remember to change armor when you get into a fight.

change armor, stances, it's a lot to juggle in a heated battle, but i am still loving the game. there are so many quests. holy g-d. i guess i'll start updating the suits as well now.

You don't have to change armor in the middle of a battle. You can pause and change. I find that so funny - getting stopped by a samurai, challenged to a duel and essentially replying "Okay, just give me about 10 minutes to change into better armor first".

I remember the armor switches being pretty darn useful, and the stances were very important.
