It was funny seeing all the trophies unlock one by one after loading up my save. There are about 3 new trophies for the remaster from what I remember, looking at the list.

Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)

I got the GOTY disc sometime ago but it ended up being my first PS5 game, and it was very fun. Web-swinging took some time to get used to, but the physics of swinging through the city are pretty great. I finished the main game and DLC but skipped the more annoying timed challenges. When I found myself free-falling off Avengers Tower just so I could hit random benchmarks, I decided it was time to stop. I started a new game+ and liked crushing criminals and finding stuff with my improved skills and understanding, but I really didn’t need to do boss battles and MJ’s stealth sequences again so I switched to a different game. When I get Miles Morales, maybe I’ll try out the remastered version.

I have the Miles Morales game ready to play, but I haven't touched it, mostly because I think it may be too similar to the first game, and that there's not much new to see, since it's still in the same "world".

It's a huge improvement. The concept of "the city is a character in its own right!" is far better executed here, the characterization overall is a lot stronger, Miles' powerset is considerably more compelling, and there's a much tighter focus. It's a game where you could easily see and do everything there is to experience in a weekend. Even as someone who enormously enjoyed Insomniac's first Spider-Man game, I liked Miles Morales so much more that it'll be tough to go back to playing a Peter-centric game down the road.

^ Agreed. Plus once you get used to the ability in MM to disappear after being spotted, losing it when returning to the Spider-Man game is super-frustrating.

Picked up a copy of Miles Morales for PS5 this evening.

Not sure when I'll get to it but it's great to finally have it on my shelf!

Agree. I really like the Christmas decorations across the city as well in MM.

The lack of pigeons makes SM:MM the superior game over SM.

Pigeons =

But there ARE pigeons in MM.

There are less of them, but they're absolutely there.

Yeah, but you only have to chase them down once. That's better than the previous game... I just have a problem with pigeons.

Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)

I just restarted this last night after not playing for two and a half years.... I was around 80% finished before my break. I had to relearn all the moves again. I want to finish the game so I can start Miles Morales. The pigeons and the random crimes are the most annoying parts of the game. I'm giving up on the random crimes and going to finish the main story I knocked out
Spoiler:
The Sable bases and Prisoner bases last night.
I may play some of the DLC or just skip ahead to Miles Morales. I hope to finish the main story by Wednesday. I want to play Miles Morales during the Christmas season since it takes place during Christmas.

The DLC was good for people that just wanted to stay in that world just a little longer and keep swinging through the city fighting crime. Otherwise it's forgettable. You're probably not missing much if you skip it and go straight to Miles.

I agree. The DLC is like a series of mob ambushes, some of which you can fail arbitrarily for no good reason. The story is really bare bones and does nothing to advance the plot or connect to Miles. It's not fun and not really worth playing.

I played through the DLC and thought it was fine. I think you’re good going straight to MM, though, because of the holiday theme. Going back to Spider-Man later might be a bit disorienting because they have different abilities, but it’s not a big deal.

I found it really hard to go back since I missed the invisibility ability so much in stealth missions.

Is the remastered version of SM for PS4? and thus compatible with PS5. Or was it made for PS5? Meaning on some games you can download the PS4 version or the PS5. I’m wondering if SM has a PS5 version or simply made for PS4? If that makes a bit of sense.

Spider-man Remastered is PS5 only. The ps4 version should be fine for you since you're only HD.

But, I’m sure it’ll still look a little better on PS5 in 1080p, no? How do you remove things from your library as if you never purchased it, even if it came with membership? Can you just get rid of it?

I don't use PS Extra or Essential, but everything from there is technically on loan. I would just assume you could select it and remove it. Also they changed the face for Peter Parker in the remastered version. I prefer the PS4 version over the PS5 due to that. Here's a comparison if you have to have the Remastered version.

Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)

Wow. That’s a difference. Why did they do that? Like you said, on loan, so if I have PlayStation credit, why not own it just in case. I can’t buy it. I wanted MM ultimate edition, but it recognizes I already “purchased” both SM and SM: MM even though I deleted them from console. I guess always with me for some odd reasoning.

Go to your game library and see if you can delete it. They used the voice actor's face for the Remastered version and a different face model for the PS4 version. So you have a different looking Peter Parker for the Remastered version.

I see. I did delete. But it’s more like uninstall and can reinstall anytime. I don’t think you can delete or remove a purchased game. Eh, no biggie. Thanks lwhy?

Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)

I finally beat this after starting it almost four years ago. I think I'm going to skip ahead to Miles Morales. The end credits are extremely long. I ended up skipping them. I finished at 95%. I haven't completed all the random crimes and I still need to get some challenge tokens to unlock some gadgets, but I think I'm going to stop there and play Miles Morales.
