Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)
Does it take some time to get used to web slinging controls? I played for few minutes and started to get it, got to the cops location at least, but it wasn’t easy. Any beginners tips?

It’s easy. Once you get the controls down, the game is pretty much a breeze, until you get to the repetitive DLC stuff.

Ok. Thanks. It wasn’t so easy for me as of yet. As I said, played up until police are getting shot at part. But, did some how make it there. Over 1,000m or whatever. So, maybe that’s a good sign?

It’s just a bit of time to get used to swinging and attacking. But once you do, it gets much easier. I vaguely remember struggling with the Rino stuff in the beginning. It slows down considerably after that intro.

Once you upgrade some of your web slinging abilities, it gets better. I struggled a bit starting out. There's a section where you chase pigeons and it gave me fits until I slowly mastered the controls.

Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)
thank goodness for snow days.
played some more of this today. still hard, but i was getting the hang of things. i can't believe the first mission is beating Wilson Fisk (Kingpin). that's a tough ride from the get go. luckily, i got passed him and stopped a couple crimes and fixed 3 police towers.
was having fun, got a little sea sick with the web slinging. like i would move my head to the swinging as if it were some VR thing. kinda funky, but i'm getting it.
are those circuit and wavelength puzzles peppered throughout the game?

Yeah, that's a classic Insomniac thing. They do the same stuff in the Ratchet and Clank games as well.

This is reminding me how much I love this game, may need to take another swing at it again this weekend

Is it a must to thwart every crime you hear about on police radio when you’re on your way to a mission? And, how come when I go to the map, it keeps telling me it’s offline?

As I said, you can get stuff if you fight those battles, but it’s not a must. A lot of it is just how you like to play open-world games.

Guess I can’t quit him and do some random crimes and get stuff and more experience, huh? I hope to get him tomorrow, but damn. Is it just one big chance sequence?
I do like the game and the stealth mechanics. I don’t know how I got all silent takedowns in Fisk’s art gallery. There were a lot. That wasn’t easy, but distracting by shooting some webs came in quite handy.
I also like how the combat is very similar to Arkham games.
