I've been skipping the $100 editions and season passes the past few years, but this one seems pretty damn cool.

I also have the Gold Edition preordered. And I also need to finish Wildlands first

I'm backlogged like crazy, but if I wasn't, I'd definitely get the Gold Edition. Blood Dragon was a lot of fun, and it seems that the DLC here will fit into that style. Getting FC3 as well, which was my favorite, would be cool to play through again.

Same here, on both counts. I just have to have this one...

I hope recruiting followers is optional. I like to go in alone with no help. Makes me feel like Rambo

It's on Amazon, not Netfix. But yeah, Ubisoft did the same thing with The Division and Ghost Recon Wildlands. They are under 30 minutes and surprisingly not terrible.

Far Cry Arcade looks amazing. Might have to pick this one up at Launch if I can finish 4 and Primal by then

Don't let Primal hold you up. It's kinda crap (and in a weird bucking of the norm, gets progressively easier the further you play throughout the entire game ).

^^ Agreed. Primal is the only FC game I gave up on. The rest are amazing.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

For me, Far Cry was great with Far Cry 3 then amazing with Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (a true classic).

With all the freebies they're giving away (They are including far cry 3 for free) I have a feeling 5 is going to be lame.

I'll no longer buy Ubisoft games until they put more effort into them.

5 is likely to be the best of the series so far.

There aren't "Freebies" being given away, there is added-value content included in the $99.99 Gold Edition of the game. To conclude that FC5 won't be good because they're including a remastered copy of FC3 in the Gold Edition makes about as much sense as thinking that The Fractured But Whole wouldn't be any good because it included a copy of The Stick of Truth or that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was going to be bad because they included a copy of Call of Duty Classic in the Hardened Edition of the game. It's just an idiotic statement.

Wow, take a step back there son - I didn't realize it was part of the gold edition - just read multiple posts on instagram that 3 was a freebie.

But yeah, I also jumped to conclusions because it's ubisoft and expectations are very low.

^^ Ubisoft puts out pretty good stuff, IMO... they just tend to drop their prices quickly (which I appreciate).

Sorry, that was too harsh. My bad.

But yeah, I'd have to say that Ubisoft has been pretty good of late. Thought AC : Origins was really good, South Park : TFBW was solid and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was surprisingly good fun and I still haven't stopped playing Ghost Recon Wildlands. Going back a little further, I was really impressed with Watch Dogs 2 and liked Steep a lot as well. That's a pretty hot streak.

That said, I was very disappointed in the Gold Edition content from Wildlands, The Division and Far Cry 4. It certainly looks like this batch of DLC is a lot more substantial.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

The thing that put me off from ubisoft was when I played watch dogs 2 for a very long stretch then popped GTA V back in - it was like night and day and GTA V was a last gen title beefed up for the new consoles - watch dogs 2 looks pretty bad compared to it and feels super restrictive - they just didn't put much effort into it and EVERY side mission is literally identical.

Now I'm not saying rockstar is king shit over ubisoft - Rockstar is the biggest money grabber ever with their DLC - even over EA games and that's saying a lot - you spend 40 bucks for rockstart DLC only to find that you need to spend even more just to enjoy it - Rockstar is fucking terrible, they went from being very profitable fans who made great games to money grubbing trash (who still make good looking games).

ubisoft just feels like they release half baked garbage to me - far cry 3 was so promising then when 4 came out, it was just so bland an uninspired then we got primal which was a retread (didn't they use the same exact map from 4 but said it was an all new map?).

Also, if you go back to the far cry 4 thread and watch dog 2 threads in this forum, you will see that I was giving them very high praise - but time is a tell all and that praise didn't last.

I haven't purchased any Rockstar DLC since Undead Nightmare, what are they doing with it to make them terrible? F2P overkill with GTA:O?

Yeah, you spend like 40 bucks on criminal starter pack but then you have to spend much more to use the stuff you just unlocked - they're really bad now...I just hope their greed doesn't start pulling away from the single player portion - GTA V's characters and story were lame but at least it had bulk to it.

Yeah, they need to just release GTA:O as a free title to reassure that the F2P tactics won't bleed over, but after 90m+ units sold I guess they don't need to. I never touched the online portion.

If you are spending real money in GTA online then you are doing it wrong.

Actually sorry, please don't answer that in this thread - bump the GTA V thread if you want.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

Back on track.

Both the Xbox and PS4 Gold Edition DIGITAL is only $90 at Best Buy AND it's eligible for the $10 RZ certificate. The $90 price looks like an Ubisoft price(it's also $90 on Amazon), not a BB discount. GCU still does not apply though.

I haven't kept up with new releases but is this a first? 10% digital on day 1?

Also you can't pre-order the retail PS4 gold edition at either retailer. What gives?
