Your switch comes with two joycons, so if you purchase two more you can play 4 player mario kart.

You can either download it or buy a hard copy, both options exist.

If you buy a bundle, it comes with either Mario Odyssey or Splatoon 2 (I think), in digital form. If you buy the vanilla switch for 299, it comes with no games. The new Mario is downloadable from the eshop, and is also available as a physical cart.

WWE 2K18 just came out. It's actually on sale at Amazon, but backordered. But apparently the game is a mess, and who knows if they can even patch it (NBA 2k18 was also a mess that was patched, but word is that this is much worse)

Posted that the night they did the console reveal earlier this year.

If you'd told me then that today I'd be very seriously contemplating re-re-re-buying a six year old game, that I've already spent over $100 on, just to play on the Switch, I'd have looked you dead in the eyes and laughed right in your face.

Yet here we are, and I'm trying to talk myself out of going out and buying Skyrim...again.

Fuckin' Switch.

I'm about to hook up the Switch and get things going on it before my daughter starts her Christmas break. Do you have to install games on the Switch like you do on PS4 and Xbox One? I didn't know since the games are on cartridges instead of disc like the other systems use.

No it plays off the cartridge and updates are mostly under 200 MB

You'll get the hat jump. I found it very awkward at first, but now it's a standard part of my move arsenal. It's one of those moves that seems complicated at first, but quickly becomes second nature.

While in the air, throw your hat, then dive at it. Diving is the stomp button, then quickly jump. Z-trigger, jump. Commit it to memory. If you hold the jump button long enough after diving, you'll bounce off the hat, and can actually do it again in the air, but not 3 times. And if you can do it 3 times, well, I guess I don't have the timing down yet.

It depends. Nintendo games are generally very good about keeping everything on the cartridge, third party games have been pretty bad. I was actually surprised that Fire Emblem Warriors took up so much space, though that wasn't really from Nintendo.

Well, my daughter has a seasonal job at Target. Getting $300 in Gift Cards last Sunday for $270 and then getting her to buy a new Switch with her 10% employee discount using those gift cards made the Switch a good enough deal to pull the trigger. That will be a family present this year.
No games or accessories purchased yet though.

My son loves that Arms demo. Is the game worth picking up? Doesn't look like a ton of content for $60 to me.
Do I need a screen protector? Should I buy a second set of Joy Cons or should I get a "Pro" controller or whatever they call that other kind?

I’ve had my Switch since launch and just bought a screen protector. It’s not a bad idea to have but I didn’t have any problems. I just bought one just to be safe. As far as extra Joy Cons I guess it just depends if you’ll have more than two players as the set can act as two controllers. I don’t have a Pro Controller yet but wouldn’t mind having one. I play a lot in handheld mode though so it hasn’t been a major priority yet. I haven’t played Arms but I’ve heard it’s a decent fighter. It’s supposed to have a pretty active online community so that could be a positive. Personally I’m waiting for a lower price before grabbing it. Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers is a decent fighter that’s not full price. Of course it is a port of a game that’s been around since the SNES though.

We borrowed Cave Story from the library and even on easy setting, I died about 6-7 times in the first minute. But then I finally got into the groove and I'm loving this.

Is this out of print? I went to Amazon to put it on my wishlist and it's only available from 3rd party sellers.

I am loving being able to play Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on the big screen and on the road. The Switch really is a great little system.

Kids are still loving Mario odyssey and Mario kart as well.

It was probably a single run since it comes with the soundtrack on a mini cd and what have you. You can still get it from Best Buy.

I still want to get Cave Story + eventually. Seems up my alley and Nicalis puts together nice packages for their releases. I’ve seen it all over locally (Walmart, Target, and GameStop).

I normally do too, I don't have one on any of my devices, except my Switch. The docking process is just asking for a chance to scratch the thing.

Keep it, USF2 is a pretty decent primer for playing Super Turbo. The art gallery in USF2 is different than the 30th collection.

Outlast 1 and 2 are coming to Switch in early 2018. I love survival horror games and didn't get the chance to play these on my PS4.
