Appears WM will be the place at least for advertised deals for Switch games this year.
Mario Rabbids $29 Zelda Explorers edition $49 6 games listed for $29, 5 of them it's the spine so can't tell off hand 4 games at $19 |

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
So I'm a little bummed. I went to use my Splatoon 2 Pro Controller for the first time last night with Super Mario Odyssey and noticed that the left stick was having issues. I could put the controller down and Mario would start walking all by himself. I tried to re-calibrate it under the system settings menu and even un-paired and re-paired it and that didn't fix the issue either. Can anyone recommend anything else? If not I don't have a choice but to return it but that thing is long sold out, so I'll be stuck buying a regular black one instead.

I'd call Nintendo, their tech support is baller.
Also, hurray, Hulu: https://www.engadget.com/2017/11/09/...ntendo-switch/ |

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
I’m really surprised Nintendo didn’t release a special Mario edition Pro Controller. I know they did the bundle with the red Joy Cons but I easily would have bought a Pro Controller with some Mario printing on it.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Reviews of Doom are starting to come in and it’s sounding like a good port. Graphics sound like they’re good but obviously won’t match the other versions of the game. Seems like the gameplay is solid. I might pick up a copy.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
I tried playing on the PC but I'm too used to the old versions and I couldn't get used to having to aim up and down. Is there an auto-aim option that can be toggled?

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Might have to grab one of those. I have more than enough space for now but that’s a good price and just to have it’s worth it. Especially considering one of the games I’d like to grab (LA Noire) requires a 14GB download.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Damn That went fast.Price went back up. I'm sure it'll show up again by BF.
|
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
I still see it at $30 now.
|
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
It looks to be $44 again but it’s part of Best Buy’s Black Friday ad too and can be ordered online.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
So are the left and right joycons very easy for anyone else to disconnect from the system? When playing in handheld mode, I can lightly press on the the bottom of a joycon and it will slide out. I don't even need to press the small black release button. Is this normal? My daughter has actually disconnected it a few times while playing when she presses the joystick upwards...
|
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Doesn't seem normal. I've never had the issue. They seem pretty securely fastened until I press the release button.
|
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Mine are definitely secure. Have to push the button and pull a fair amount to get them off.
|
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
okay, thanks. Maybe I will give Nintendo a call. It's pretty annoying in handheld mode.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Is there a way to move software from the on board memory to a memory card?

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
My wife and I bought the Mario Odyssey bundle for our son for Christmas. This is our first time buying any new gaming system in years.
I've seen people mention getting a Micro SD card for additional storage, but I'm curious to know if it is necessary to get one right out of the gate. |

I've seen people mention getting a Micro SD card for additional storage, but I'm curious to know if it is necessary to get one right out of the gate. For context, I bought several smaller digital games (Blaster Master, Alex Kidd), downloaded some demos, and bought a larger digital game (NBA Playgrounds) and Mario Kart digitally, and the only reason I had to start deleting stuff was because Koei for whatever reason needed a lot of space for their fire emblem game. But when you start off, the default should be fine. edited to add: Ok, just checked, there's 32 GB of space(which you can't use all of) by default. Mario Kart full digital is 6.8 Gigs. Puyo Puyo Tetris digital is 1.0 Gigs. Odyssey on cart takes up only an additional 101 MB. Splatoon 2 cart: 597MB Zelda: BOW cart (no DLC): 351MB Wonder Boy digital: 886MB Blaster Master Zero digital: 321MB NBA Playgrounds digital: a whopping 9.6 GB Fire Emblem Warriors cart: a whopping 2.6 GB So yeah, unless you're buying a lot of digital games or third party games(I think the still-unreleased-in-NA Dragon Quest Heroes takes up more than the available 32 gigs digitally) you should be fine. Even BOW digital takes about 13 gigs only. |

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Okay, thanks guys! At the moment, we are going strictly physical so it looks like we will be good.
|
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Yeah, I've been using my Switch a lot since I got it a little after launch. I haven't needed to expand the storage yet, though I do have a 128gb microsd handy just in case.
|
Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Yeah, I’m buying a Micro SD for the future but I still have like 24GB left. Though a substantial amount of that will get eaten up when I install Doom and if I get LA Noire down the line. I’m buying mostly game cards though which are mostly self contained. My only downloads are Mario Bros. and Sonic Mania.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
I've mostly done digital downloads since the Wii U and 3DS. Zelda + DLC kills a lot of space. I've also installed Mario and multiple demos and a couple 3rd party games. I did run out of space trying to download a particularly large demo.
I managed to get the $30 SD card deal posted a bit earlier, so I don't foresee any problems anymore. As far as I can tell you can't transfer software from the on-board storage to the SD card without deleting and reinstalling it, but I did transfer all my screenshots etc. over to it. That feature may be helpful since the only other way to get them off the console is facebook/twitter as far as I can tell. |
