Well, I wouldn't buy one shipping from China, for one. Getting a used copy is riskier too.

Jay G. has some good tips. There's also a chance you might accidentally just buy the case. There's quite a few listed that are only selling the case for the game.

Huh. I didn’t even know you could counterfeit a game cartridge. I’m gonna have to lick every game now. Just to be sure. Thanks all.

To be honest, OoT and Majora’s Mask were two of the Zelda games I haven’t played. I’m not sure I ever will.

I have those two, I believe, on one game disc for GameCube. I think it was limited or something or very hard to get at the time. Anyway, I have the GC disc, but would prefer to play on Switch.

So, I found Amazon Warehouse was selling an "acceptable" "renewed" or "refurbished" whatever those mean in terms of a cartridge for SM All-Stars, but they had it for $45 so I pounced and should have it soon. It also said "case may not be included", which would suck, but I just want to play the games. Maybe it's the correct US version, maybe it's not, but the pic showed US so here's hoping.

Amazon Warehouse are often returns, so if you get an authentic cartridge you've won the lottery...

Ocarina of Time is great. I couldn't get into Majora's Mask because I didn't like the combination of day resets and ticking clock. It was too much pressure.

There were two promotional Gamecube releases that included Ocarina of Time. The first was The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition, which also included the two NES games and Majora's Mask. In North America, it was bundled with the Nintendo GameCube. The collection could also be obtained by subscribing or renewing a subscription to Nintendo Power, or by registering a GameCube and two or more of a selection of four games.

The second was a promo with Ocarina of Time and "Master Quest", a reworking of Ocarina of Time.. This disc was given out in limited quantities with pre-orders of The Wind Waker. Additionally, it was sold packaged with The Wind Waker in some regions.

Both of these releases ran an N64 emulator to play the N64 games.

I’ve actually had very good experiences from the Warehouse when I purchased a couple used things. But you would hardly know it. I remember, from them, it looked almost brand new.

I've had that experience. I've also had the time I purchsed a "Like New" PS4 Pro that was an old broken rattly network router in a PS4 box.

I sold mine for a pretty penny years ago. I regret it.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

well, Amazon Warehouse did it again. they sent me a shrink-wrapped brand-new game. I was expecting the worst and feel like I won the lottery. AW doesn't re-shrink-wrap a product, would they? Don't know if it's legit, but it sure looks it to me. I still can't get my head around a listing on Amazon saying "acceptable" or "renewed" or whatever they called it. I'm not sure I should break the seal, lol.
Spoiler:

I'd make sure a cart is in it.

I mean you wanted it to play right? Are you going to flip it instead for $100?

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

no, you're right. I want to play very badly, and I don't usually buy stuff and keep them sealed, let alone selling them. never my intention and I hate selling things on eBay. wonder if eBay just sells the cart and no case.

I would just open it and play it. The cart in it might be a rewrapped bootleg. That way you're not accidentally selling a bootleg. Open it up and play it.
