World of Final Fantasy Maxima on sale in the eShop for $19.99.

Bought one of those 400 GB card, waiting for it to shop. I'm going to swap out my 128 card. It will be a PITA to re-download everything but probably worth it.

Finally got a Switch last month. A few observations...

I really like how small it is (as a console) and how simple and out of the way it is to hook up to a TV, almost as if it's not even there.

There's really not that many games for it, not the kind I like anyways, and so many full-priced ports of U games that I kinda have to call shenanigans.
There's a ton of good indie games for it, but a majority of those are available elsewhere.
I have a ton of money in the Nintendo store, and not sure what to buy next.

The joy-con controller flat out sucks, and a pro-controller is pretty much necessary. But at least the pro is a really good controller, and seems to have near-infinite battery life.

Mario Odyssey was fun, but seemed to be over as soon as it began - sure, there's a lot of "post-game" content, but I wish they would've incorporated that during the normal game. somehow.

Really looking forward to the Yoshi game!

]Mario Odyssey doesn't really begin until you beat it. That then opens up a ton of new or added stuff that you can do. I found it more fun after I beat it personally.

Yeah, Mario Odyssey's story is more a tutorial than anything. It takes up like 30% of the overall game.

But what kind of games are you looking for? Might be able to throw out some recommendations.

Though Zelda:BotW is still the system MVP for me, and I'm mostly playing Tetris 99 right now.

Yeah, if you're looking for FPSs and AAA ports from other systems, you're going to be disappointed. But otherwise the library is pretty deep at this point (though like you said, it's much deeper if you never owned a WiiU).

Yeah, already have a Wii U and played BotW on that, along with Tropical Freeze, and so on.
I mostly like platformers, the more 2D hand-drawn the better, and I'm aware of the majority of these.
Guess I'm just holding out for more Nintedno first party games like Yoshi and Mario Maker 2.

Awesome. on MAR10 day. I have all of these digitally except Super Mario U so guess it's time to pick that up.

What's the best of those games? I have New Super Mario Bros and MK8 on the Wii U, but I wouldn't mind them on the Switch. I only have Odyssey from the list.

I saw on the same sale page that Mario + Rabbids is on sale digitally for $19.79. Does that game still hold up?

If you love MK8, I think Deluxe is worth the upgrade: new characters, all the DLC (if you didn't already get 'em on the Wii U), Battle Mode, portability...

Mario + Rabbids is amazing and definitely comes recommended.

I'd feel bad about not holding out for Mario Odyssey, but I did get it on sale at Target for $40 - probably the only physical Switch title I'll buy.
I already have Mario U on, well, the U, but that's on disc - I wonder if it's worth re-buying digitally on the Switch for $40 - $60 is definitely a ripoff - seriously, charging full retail for a 6 year old port? The balls!

Those games have "sold out" -at least of the sale allotment- already at most sites, which is total Bullshit. BTW. Still most are available at Best Buy.

Yeah, until they corrected it later, their initial announcement said they'd be discounted on Nintendo's e-store as well, but I guess not.
Nintendo has so few sales and discounts, that they have no idea how to properly go about it when they do.

Between the no sales tax and the 300 Gold Coins that N gives you when you redeem the code it's an even $37 for a two month old First Party Nintendo game. Hard to beat that deal any time soon.

Question about the gold coins you get from buying and redeeming games, I'm a little unclear what you do with those. Are they just used for ingame items and such? I saw that platinum coins could get discounts on Wii U and 3DS games, so is that just a similar currency?

Not sure about all their uses, but they can be used as currency when you buy a new game, 100 = $1.
