Aside from that horrible tower defense game this is my favorite series. That just looks fantastic. I'm in on day one for sure.

Kind of started as a remake, now it's a re-imagining.

Intriguingly, Amazon is listing it as having a $39.99 MSRP (bonus!) and a June 30th, 2016 release date.

Um somebody here apparently doesn't realize that starting new Ratchet & Clank game threads is kind of my thing here actually.

Yeah, I've been wondering what was going on with this. I heard about them doing a remaster of the first game for the movie, but that didn;t get me very excited. Looking at that gameplay footage though, I'm very much on board with this. Besides, I'm looking forward to playing R&C1 with James Arnold Taylor doing the Ratchet voice instead of whoever the douche was that they originally hired for the first game and then promptly replaced with Taylor ever since.

No brainer at $40.00.

Anyway, agree that the game looks absolutely stunning and the gameplay looks...well, it looks like Ratchet & Clank, which is to say that it looks like the best blend of mascot platforming and creative shooting ever. For guys who were Xbox only last gen, you're in for a real treat.

And I think the $40 price point is brilliant. I might actually pre-order it, which I'd never do at $60.

No, sorry for the confusion. I hadn't made a thread for this game as I had thought it was just yet another remaster of R&C1 and wouldn't be worth discussing. Not until your thread was I aware that insomniac is doing something new and awesome. I just didn't like getting scooped on my favorite franchise.

This game looks amazing. The series has advanced so much from the original that it's a little hard to go back to the first game. This looks like just what I'd hope for. Love that Pixilator gun. Hope they got rid of that PITA avoid- drowning section that was the most frustrating challenge in the entire R&C series (at least until FFA came out).

R&C can continue to make basically the same game, with minor improvements/tweaks, and I'll be all in every time. I haven't been bored yet, although All4One wasn't really my cup of tea.

They way this game was presented on the PSN store last month made it seem like it was coming really soon, not a year away.

On the Pre-Order page it now says :

This full game is expected to be available in 379 days on 6/29/2016.

That says "Spring 2016" though the June 30th date hasn't changed on the PSN Store yet.

Spring lasts until 6/19, so they could sneak it into that window.
