I just figured it'd be released alongside the movie on/around April 29th. Here's hoping!

Coming 4/12/16. Just three weeks away!!!!!

It's actually only two weeks away, and I can't wait to see how this series will look on the current generation.

I want to play this, but there's just too much going on for me to get to it. Maybe it'll end up being a summer pick up for me.

I didn't realize that this is a remake/"re-imagining" of the first game from the PS2, and not a continuation of the series.

That's kind of a bummer...

They combined a couple of planets, added some new ones, and changed up a bunch of weapons and some of the bosses. It's friggin' gorgeous and kinda budget priced, and that definitely eases some of the remake-ish sting.

has it been promoted well? somehow I haven't seen much from it. Damn near nonexistent w/ how little I've seen.

I didn't realize that either. Nonetheless, I can't wait to get home from work on Tuesday to play this (hopefully there isn't a huge "update" required).

The remake status was mentioned in the very first info that was released about the game. I'll be finishing up Twilight Princess this weekend and can't wait to start this.

The Verdict

I guess it's more complex than just a remake of the first game - it's the game based on the movie that is based on the first game...

hmm... I couldn't find this at my local Target or Best Buy - I hope I don't have to step into a Gamestop to buy this...

Assuming the 'find in store' features are worth their salt, no dice at any Targets around me, but the Best Buy near me has copies in stock. Maybe they just haven't put 'em out yet?

My copy is waiting for me at home, but I'm so backlogged with reviews to write that it'll be a while before I get to play. (At least I finished Quantum Break first!)

This. One of the many things I love about digital, is not having to go around town looking for a copy.

I want the disc - mostly to have the option of re-selling it and/or letting someone borrow it.

Fair. Digital only has made me so lazy, it's a love/hate thing. Being able to switch between AAA games without budging is just... nice.

Agreed. No rush hour traffic trying to get to the store is a win/win.

That's weird. It looks like Best Buy hasn't sent out anyone's Bouncer DLC codes yet.

I got mine at 11:12PM last night :

I love the tagline on the back: "The Game, based on the Movie, based on the Game". Great to see them having fun with that.

How do you get the DLC codes? Did you have to pre-order the game? I got it at Best Buy but didn't pre-order.

There are some complaints on other message boards I read and even Best Buy's own forums about this, so I thought that maybe they didn't send 'em out at all yet, but I guess I'm just among those who drew a short stick.

It was pre-order only, yeah. Insomniac wasn't going to have the Bouncer in the game, but the word from up on high was to have a DLC weapon, and they managed to squeeze this one in. They said it if it's ever available for purchase, it'll be a few months.

Mine should be arriving from Amazon later this week. I should have just gone to the store to pick up a copy so I could play today.

Got mine, shipped from Best Buy, today. Sliced oven along the spine by a box cutter it appears. Assholes. I'm going to see if I can swap it out with an in-store copy
