The fact they're talking about freebies scares me.
I mean, when they were down in 2011, it was a month, and we got 2 games and a free month of plus. And there's still no ETA for it coming back up.
And to top all of this off, my neighborhood had an hour long power outage earlier tonight. What a great holiday weekend!

I posted the thread with the word "Hack" as I didn't have all the detail (didn't care about coming back to change it either) as to what happened.
I'm kind of glad I did now though as a lot of people now know what the attack is and does.

PSN still shows as down but I just got into the store via the web and then booted up the system to try Destiny and got in (PS4) .... 2:15 am CT

The gaming networks returned thanks to Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom, who offered the Lizard Squad 3,000 premium lifetime vouchers for his relaunched MegaPrivacy service.
Kim Dotcom is wanted by the U.S. government for copyright infringement related to his former file-sharing website Megashare which has been taken by the US Government. He took the time to take a dig at the United States with his example of diplomatic outreach:

Just checked the PSN Status page...showing "green"....was offline about 1 hour ago.
Update: as of 9:30 central still cannot sign in and shows error code NP-35000...undergoing maintenance
As to the Anonymous vs Lizard Squad...I hope it's true. I don't always agree with some of the stuff, people, companies and political agenda of Anonymous. But one thing for sure is; Lizard Squad just does this for the heck-of-it, doesn't care who gets hurt, suffers, with zero conscious, feelings all for some superiority complex and play God. Simply put...they're Gaming Terrorists.

Lack of the internet would put these guys where they belong = loserville with zero notoriety. They are like serial killers who do the deed and then want people to take notice. Once that dies down they clamor for more and try to get their name back out there.

The most insulting part of that Sony comment is them blaming it on "high levels of traffic", which I guess is the definition of a DDoS attack, but they neglect to mention they were attacked, as it would show vulnerability, also, the attacks have stopped for more than a day and they still can't get their shit together.
