Outside of taking my entire PS4 console offline, is there any way to turn off the online leaderboards from popping up? I hate that shit. "Always online" can eat a bag of dicks!

This game is dope. The controls do take some getting used to (and I'm still struggling with the wingsuit) but man, perfect mindless sandbox action.
I actually like the leaderboard integration in this one. Makes dicking around in the world more meaningful once I see that one of you goofs surpassed my wingsuit score.

Didn't get to play much but I am digging the hell out of it so far.
Aiming at enemies when you are trying to shoot them is weird to me, though.

Two things i am having a slight problem with. The first is i keep wanting my character to be able to run. And the forward roll from JC2 does not seem to be incorporated. The other is the control for shooting in zoom. The mapping for the controls could be a little better. Still, looking forward to more play on this tonight.

How do you even zoom to shoot? I can't even figure that out. I keep wanting to pull the left trigger to aim.
From looking at the in-game controls I thought it was R3 (which would be awkward), but that doesn't seem to do anything.

Seems like there isn't a way to zoom to shoot. I don't recall if the previous ones had this or not? I know it says you click in the right stick to do "precision aim" but that must be something for specific weapons because it's done nothing so far with every weapon I've tried.

Zooming only works with certain weapons like sniper rifles. I'm also having a hard time with the control scheme. Part of that is due to me playing on the PS4 which is not a console I use much. At least with this bonkers game hitting the wrong button often results in delicious mayhem more often than not and there are so many ways to save your own ass that I've stopped worrying about whether I've just deployed the parachute, wingsuit, or grappling hook. I heartily recommend doing the various wingsuit course challenges as they really do help you to master that thing.

I'm not really enjoying this as much as I thought I would. The clown car enemies are a pain in the ass, and it seems too slow. Maybe I need to do more missions instead of explore. But so far it's a 5/10 for me.

Re: Just Cause 3 (12/1/2015)
I played a couple more hours on it last night. No crashes or errors and only one slow down (first major base i took on and a little too close to a large explosion). I am enjoying it, and the controls seems to improve the more you play. When the game is installing you get the chance to play around on that island and the tether and parachute dont seem to be as responsive in this area as in the game world itself. One thing i have noticed is that the world seems to be much less populated than JC2. Many roads seem empty in comparison to the last game, and thats disappointing. Also, it seems like losing enemies on even alert level 1 is harder than the last game. I would go off road and try and hide and the next second bad guys are right behind me getting out of vehicles. Kind of a pain. I cannot recall, but did the last game have a mini map on screen as you play? This game would benefit from it, as i cannot stand having to continually go back to view the map to see where i am. Also, yes it does appear i was mistaken about the zoom/precision aim. I really enjoyed and found the precision aim helpful as hell on JC2, glad to hear its back here, but having to unlock it sounds cheap. Also, some of the textures for buildings in cities are not exactly spectacular, but the game looks pretty gorgeous all the same. I went to to the top of the game world, flew down and found a hidden temple or something. 23 i think to find altogether.
So far i am enjoying it, but not sure if it will be as good as JC2. That game just seemed to get everything right. Even more amazing after the first game which was horrible (driving in that game was like being on ice and just such a sucky game).
I have hopes that future patches and DLC will only make this game even better. I would personally love to see the return of the jet boosters and the Push gun that were DLC with JC2. I know the boosters are a bit redundant now with the Glide wings, but still an optional extra and makes flying upwards easier and faster.

Re: Just Cause 3 (12/1/2015)
I had forgotten how truly open-world the Just Cause games actually are. I was playing one mission and getting my butt handed to me by waves of helicopters and soldiers and was trying to figure out how I was going to get from point A to point B when it finally dawned on me that I didn't have to deal with them at all. Just grapple-chute behind everyone, drop down to grab the item, and grapple-chute away.
To be honest I would've rated JC2 with the same list of pros and cons but for some reason these two games click for me in a way that very few games do these days. Is it even close to perfect? No. Will I play it more than all my others games put together for the next few months? Yep.

Playing more today and damn this game is buggy. Crashed or frozen on me 4 times in less than 2 hours play. So many things off in this game. It takes forever for your character to get up after being hit and many times this can mean certain death. The controls feel overly sensitive in things like helicopters. The sound effects on weapons sounded better in the last game. I had real slow down at one point during play that made it super slow. I won't have a chance to install patches until the New Year but so far it's being disappointing. It's still fun, but nowhere near where it should be. Hell, even the game world was better in the last game. So far I have not found a single big city. Well, maybe back to MGS and start on Fallout 4 sooner than expected.
Update: Yep, this game is proving to be a massive failure. The more I see the less I like it. It's looks great for the first 5 mins, but you quickly realize JC2 actually looks better. The world design is soooooo lazy and unimaginative. JC2 had a lot of diverse and interesting locales, but this feels copycat and at times completely redundant. Even things like when you control a vehicle and swivel the camera angle, in JC2 the camera would stay where you put it. In JC3 it slowly rotates back to looking forward. In JC2 they got the vehicle controls spot on. Here it's more like back to JC1 and does not make me want to use vehicles ever if I can help it. This game could have been amazing, but instead it's a throw away bit of explosive fun for a few minutes before the problems start irritating you.

Re: Just Cause 3 (12/1/2015)
Played quite a bit of this over the weekend.
I really like the feel/look of the world - it's a pleasure to travel about it, and the combo of the grapple/parachute/wing-suite makes it fun and easy to do so - much more than it was in the last Arkham game.
There's a lot of cool stuff around the world - I stumbled onto a random rave party, which was kinda cool - there wasn't any point to it, it was just fun little easter-egg. Though it does have less variety to it than JC2, which had the big urban city with sky-scrapers and deserts that this one lacks.
Controls are mostly good, though sometimes they can be finicky - "No, I didn't want to hang from there, I wanted to let go of the grapple!"
Running around a huge beautiful world and blowing shit up is totally my jam, so even with the performance problems, I'm having a good time (for now). Though the load times are fucking ridiculous and inexcusable. That, combined with lack of mission diversity are probably the two biggest knocks against the game.

Took me a minute to realize that David Tennant is the unwilling Propaganda Minister who comes on the radio after you liberate something. Now I have a mission: rescue The Doctor.

Got a side mission to deliver a crate to a drop point. No way to interact with it or anything. How are you supposed to complete these?

I haven't come across that one yet, but it won't let you tether the crate to a vehicle?
